  1. Hi, im just wondering if anyone can help me... my names Katie and im 17 years old currently 1 year into my 2 years at college in the uk studying BTEC extended diploma in health and social care level 3. My family and I are looking to move to Australia in the next 12 months, I am just wondering if my BTEC qualification/ my 9 GCSE's will be recognised in Australia and if I will be eligible to get into University in Australia from these qualifications? Any information will be much appreciated, many thanks Katie.
  2. Hiya Carolyn! Thanks for that advice its muchly appreciated, ill tell my parents now I'll be sure to keep everyone updated as things progress! Katie x
  3. Hiya! basically im posting this for my mum and dad... We decided we definitely want to make the move to oz after going on holiday there in 2007 and loving every minute of it and not wanting to come home, we couldnt at the time because non of them had a skill. 5 years on and my mums graduated as a mental health nurse (graduated in i think it was march of this year) So where do we go from here? how do we start the process? and is it true that nurses get fast-tracked? and is it essential that she has experience before we go? Any info on any of these would be amazing  Oh and just incase your were wondering, my mums 38, dads 43, im 16 and younger sister is 13. We are hoping to move to Canberra or somewhere around Canberra as thats where family is. Thanks, Katie&family :wubclub:
  4. Hiya Karen! thanks so much for that reply! really interesting im glad your neice liked it and hopefully i will to! We arent going until spring/summer next year, so by then i would of completed my first year at sixth form doing a-levels, so what will happen about that when i get to Aus, is there an equivalent to a-levels do you know? Thanks again, Katie x

Thanks again x
  7. Hiyaa! Well im not moving til next year, i think we're moving to Canberra or somewhere around that area wbu? and i know its horrible thats the hardest thing, when we first mentioned it last year she was reallyyyyy upset and yeah i know thats what i thought can always make new friends so im not as bothered about that part x
  8. Hiya, Im 16, just left school and for a while now my mum and dad have been wanting to move to Australia after we went on holiday there in 2007, and yes i loved it there but cant really remember that much now. Anyways, we couldnt go to live because none of them had a skill, but my mum has recently graduated as nurse, so we're now currently sorting the house out and my parents say we could be gone this time next year. Im excited and do want to go, but i am really really anxious :daydreaming: I mean, its a long long way away, im not too fussed about leaving friends cause i know i can always make new ones, but the main reason is my grandma, cause i love her too bits and its gonna kill me to leave her. It does make it easier we have family in australia though. So id just like to hear peoples stories, preferably people my age that have moved and what they think of life down under. Thanks xx
