Yea it looks like it just tough luck
7 minutes ago, Stevwtosh said:Nope am sailing in the boat as everyone does. What am saying is that it should be the old system for current PR holder's i.e legally lived in Australia for 4 years and with 1 year on PR. So what am saying is that it would be unfair for someone who have lived here for 3 years legally and maybe just 3 weeks away to be on PR for a year to qualify for Citizenship that have to now wait 3 more years to be eligible. This is why I said Immigration don't normally operate like this. It's should be for new granted PR holder's. Just my thought
Yea I think its just going to be tough luck... I am not sure we are going to get all these answers anytime soon.

Other thing I want to know is who is exempt from the English test, its not clear?
-
I have been eligible for the last few months and have been filling out my form online and getting a few documents like movement records and things. Just hadn't clicked the submit button...
-
Yea it's the same question I am asking, because I guess so many people are in the same boat as me whereby they qualify now but under the new process they wont for a few years.

Thanks for the posts confirming where it is outlined! Any guesses on what will happen to people who apply after 20th April and before legislation is passed?
Read further up, new rules apply.
-
Yea I am talking about between now and 1st of June... I have literally been waiting to get paid this month and apply I have my application all filled out ready to hit submit.
-
What I would like to know is if you are currently eligible for Citizenship now under the current law, what happens to your application if the changes are approved? Do we get our money back?
-
It's pretty frustrating as so many people have been planning this for 4 years+ already.... really really disappointing.

Hello, just wondering how these latest visa changes affect people already on the 186 ENS?
-
I have been to so many places I have no idea when...

Hello!
Has anyone else struggled with the following question from the UK?
[h=2]Countries resided / visited[/h]
Since the age of 18, has the applicant lived or travelled outside of Australia?
I only got a new passport in the last few years and I cannot find my old one for whatever reason...
I literally have no idea of the dates I was in a country since the age of 18 how do I even get this information?
Any advice would be great...
-
I really do not know I did not have access to that information.nice, seems you're a lucky one. so which processing centre requested the info? was it the same one that approved the visa.Perhaps because you applied in may they speeded you through. Im preparing myself to have to wait another two weeks....
-
@briman
Immi requested extra docs for your nomination on 6/10/15 correct? And was it training benchmark? And what date did your HR upload them?
Just thinking you got your PR approved pretty quickly (well within 28 days of both request and submit).
You give me hope. Immi request extra docs for my nom on 8/10/15 and HR submit 15/10/15 (training benchmark). Im preparing myself to have to wait another 2/3 weeks but now im hopeful it MIGHT come through sooner.
Let me know if I got all your dates etc right
Yea so they requested docs on the 6th and my HR submitted them the day I got my VISA... so yea I did not have to even wait 24 hours.
-
Many Many Congratulations Briman.
What a start of the day.
Can you pls tell us what type of docs are requested by the CO and did you put a mail with them for any followup.
So they requested more documents from my work about the training budget, they did not request any extra documents from my application.
-
So I actually got approved last night out of the WA office I thought I was in NSW.
-
Hi Briman,
I firmly believe you have to wait.
But if your HR will send the mail to CO, to let them know that we have submit the requested docs then I think it will process early.
Although it is so confusing, most of them said don't sent them an email but there are cases where applicant sent the email and they got fast response.
If you have MA, ask for their advice, but probably most MA suggested not to disturb CO and let them do their work.
So we don't have a MA... ah well guess I will just have to wait and see.
-
UPDATE: HR have submitted the requested docs for the nomination does that mean I have to wait 28 days now for them to review?
-
Probably.Just seen my account status has switched to "Finalised" (after an email alert to say status had changed) - Does this mean I have PR?!!!!! -
Still no update

Fridays yes Saturdays no.Do they grant they visa on friday's and sat? -
yea mine took around 3 weeks...

I applied on the 20th and no
I applied on the 20th with no issues, I did have issues the day before however which is very frustrating for obvious reasons.
