  1. Thanks for the reply, I believe that's the general interpretation of the law for PR granted after 2007. Since my original PR was granted in 1999, I would like to know which date takes precedence. Because pre 2007 it was a 2 year requirement.
  2. Hi guys, I've got a question for you. I was initally granted my PR in 1999 but since I didn't live in Australia for the required time I was not granted an RRV. I appealed this in 2019 and by the end 2019 I was granted my RRV. I moved to Australia in Sept 2020. My question is, for my citizenship, is my PR considered from the the dat e of initial grant ( Nov 1999) or from the date of the RRV grant. Thanks in advance.
  3. I understand the 8503, my question was if we apply for a Visitor visa would that have any detrimental effect on the sponsorship application as a whole. I'm just trying to find the quickest way of getting my family across.
  4. Hi all, so after my my resident visa lapsed in 2004 and after a successful appeal in 2019, i was granted a RRV Jan 2020 (Yay). I now have three children with my wife of 20 years, she was never a PR holder and therefore I need to sponsor her and our 3 kids. Right now I know there the most probable wait time is approx.18 months for an offshore application. My question is if we apply for a subclass 600 Tourist stream Visitor visa and it is granted with the 8503 clause would that have any negative impact on the future family sponsorship. Thanks in advance
  5. Thanks for all the responses. Subsequent to posting here I managed to speak to a migration lawyer though a friend of mine via phone and what he advised was that my case officer was probably trying to determine whether I have been in my nominated occupation for 10 years as I was claiming points for this. The problem is that I am one of the directors of the company that i'm working at so whatever letter I produce from the company will not carry to much weight. So what he advised was to obtain some customer reference letters, luckily we have some multinationals in our portfolio. Also he advised to submit the audited company accounts which show the total directors salaries and my tax contributions. As I explained before, I trashed all my old statements - credit card and bank:cry:. Any further suggestions would be welcome so I could look at all angles. Thanks again
  6. Hi, I need some help regarding some documents my case officer has required from me namely my bank statements. To explain fully here is a part of the email sent to me "Representative number of Pay slips covering the period of claimed work experience 31/05/2002 to 31/05/2012 - Representative number of Bank statements for the period 31/05/2002 to 31/05/2012 showing deposit of claimed earnings - please ensure that salary details are highlighted and the statements correlate with the pay slips provided" I have provided the payslips for the entire period but my problem is I do not have bank statements going as far back as that and only provided since Nov. 2011. To further complicate matters my salary before this period was paid by cash and only part of it went into my account, the majority into my credit card (sigh). I requested my salary to be deposited into my account when was informed that my bank statements maybe required for migration purposes. When I explained this to my case office she sent me this reply: "Please note that you have applied for a Skilled migration visa and as such will have to fulfil the requirements to be granted the visa. Please also note that the onus is on you to satisfy me that you have been working in your nominated occupation for the period claimed. If you are unable to provide the documents requested, please provide other documentary evidence to substantiate your employment claims." My questions are (1) what kind of evidence do I need to provide? (2) Can I ask her what kind of evidence is she looking for? I am applying under Chief Information Officer and have already obtained a state sponsorship from SA. Thanks in advance for any help
