I thought there were companies that specialise in short term lets for migrant workers, so I will have to look into that in more detail. But what you've told me is a huge help so thank you. Lou

Hi all, Myself, husband, and 2 young kids (3yrs & 19months) are currently in the process of applying for a permanent residency visa. We should find out next month whether we've been invited to apply, and our plan was to move out later this year, or early next, if we were successful. However, my husband has been offered a job in Brisbane and they want us to move out there in the next 3-4 weeks!!!!! So I would love it if any of you can give us any advice at all. I need to know things like: which areas are good to live? any good shipping companies? sort term let companies? Any advice on car hire/child car seat hire? do weed to change our driving licences, should we open a bank account before we go or once there? kids schooling/nurseries? NOt sure what age kids start kindergarten in Australia. i appreciate its a lot of information, but thank you so much in advance. Not sure whether this is all possible in 3 weeks! Lou & family!
