Hi - The Special Category Visa (NZ Family relationship) is a temporary visa that is issued for 5 years. I believe it can continue to be renewed, but we want the security and surety of a permanent visa. Thanks.

So, I was an imposter...not being a Pom, but having lived 13 years in the UK I was more akin to the English way of life, than to the Kiwi, before relocating to Sydney (yes - I do have a weird hybrid accent!!). As a community, your tips were invaluable (you cannot have enough UK->Aus Adaptors, honestly do not ship so much cr*p...you wait 6 months and it arrives and you think..why the hell did I send that by ship?!, do make sure you copy, scan and save documents in more than one place). My dilemma is this - I am lucky enough to have a SCV being from NZ, but my hubby only has 5 years and we want to make Australia home. Anybody have a great Sydney CBD immigration expert?:cool:

Quick question, and hopefully not too obscure. I may have a couple of weeks of packet shakes which I would like to take to Oz with me, obviously I will declare at the airport, but will they be allowed in? Cheers

Looks like I can get a pretty good business class deal with Asiana Airlines (never flown business before, so will be a little treat to us), however given the price difference with other airlines, I'm just wondering where the catch is? If anyone has flown this route and has any feedback, that would be greatly appreciated. 3 months, 2 weeks and counting before we go :biggrin:
