  1. Hi all i am a permanent resident in Australia. I have applied for citizenship. I am going overseas soon on holiday. Do I need a bridging visa to return? Thanks Anne
  2. Hi, I am currently applying for citizenship and i'm not sure if i need to complete a seperate application for my husband or can he be included on mine? I have included him on mine at the moment but it's not asking for his parents details like it did for me which makes me think he must have to submit his own application? Thanks Anne
  3. Hi Richard, thank u very much for your reply! should I register with aasw? I'm reluctant to do this due to cost and also the time it would take when it's not essential. I'm hoping the case manager will realise their mistake and allocate the visa with no further requests for registration. Thanks Anne
  4. Hi my 186 visa application is now being considered and the case manager has asked for evidence of my registration with governing body (AASW). I have been in my job for 3.5 years and had my skills assessed before commencing. I am not a member of AASW as this is not essential for Social Workers in Australia. I am going through the transition stream for my 186 visa and didn't think registration was required. does anyone have any experience with this or knowledge that would be helpful regarding this issue? thanks Anne
  5. Hi my husband and I are on bridging Visa A, one of the conditions of this visa is that we have no right to travel. My husband has returned this morning, unexpectedly to the UK and has booked to return in three weeks. Will he be allowed to re-enter Australia? Thanks
  6. Hi I got the same, i submitted my 186 January. I attached it under photograph or other - couldn't see what else to name it as.

  8. Hi all can anyone tell me how long I should wait for the employer nomination to be approved? My employer submitted nomination in July but still not heard back from them
  9. Hi all, My husband and I are are in WA on 457 visa. We are preparing to apply for permanency. My husband had TB when he was about six months old. He was adopted at 1 year old and his adoptive parents weren't given any details on on him being ill except to say he had TB but it had cleared. Will this lack of details or old scarring make getting a permanent visa difficult? thanks Annie
  10. Thanks Adam, I wasn't aware there was 'my health declaration' process - that's really helpful, thanks.
  11. Hi, I am currently in Oz on 457 visa. I am preparing to apply for permanent residency and am unsure when I should get the medical. Can I get this before lodging my application? I'm hoping this would save time when I do apply. Thanks Annie
  12. Hi all, I'm looking for advice please! My husband and I are living in Oz on a 457 visa. We are preparing to apply for a permanent visa. This application is asking for information (passport numbers, places of birth, DOB) on my husbands 16 year old son, his 22 year old step daughter and for his ex wife. It is also requesting that my husbands son undergo medicals. My husband is estranged from his son and has no contact with him, step daughter or ex wife. There is no way my husbands ex would give any of this required information. Im not not sure how we can progress with this. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Annie
  13. Hi Jhutton, I'm a social worker, not a noise and therefor didn't get a medical (I think it's only nurses that are required to get these on 457 visa as uk is considered a safe country). My 457 took 5 days to be approved after submitting, it was very quick. I applied and attached my documents online. Send me a pm with ur email address n I will help u I. Any way I can
  14. Hi Mark, Thanks for the reply. Wer also coming on a 457 visa so hopefully my hubby will get a job no probs as he will have unrestricted conditions too. I got an email this morning stating they are in the process of securing a 3x2 unit in Beresford, is that a good area? We don't have a back yard which is disappointing but they said its just a short walk to the beach. Have u and ur family settled ok Mark? Anne
  15. Hi Gerry and Mark, can u tell me what the work situation is like in Geraldton? I have a job to go to but my husband will need to find something when we get there. He's a painter and decorator - is there a demand for this do u know? Thanks Anne
  16. Hi Gerry and mark, thanx for the offer of support - its good to know there's help and advice there if we need it. We fly out on 1st july, still waiting on being told where our house is, when I find out u could maybe let me know what the area is like
  17. I'm using Clarke and Rose. Not sure bout giving them an address while it is on route but it sounds reasonable enough to me
  18. Hi Kate, yeah wer shipping our goods. I got two quotes, one was for £3200 and the other was from Clarke and Rose for £1600! Some difference eh! My friends emigrated last year and they regret not shipping their furniture!
  19. My work are proving accomodation which is good, I'm still waiting on them telling me exactly where - I'm hoping for a four bedroom over looking the beach!! Better not get my hopes up! The visa process was surprisingly straight forward. There's a list of certified documents u will need, start getting ur stuff together just now and yeah ul need to prove that uve been together for so many years. I'm 34 and the hubby's 42, looking forward to a completely new way of life, canny wait to get more of this sunshine! Been great the past few days eh
