2. It really depends where you end of working as I am working in NT Office of Children & Families and was interviewed by Victoria neither of which insisted on me being part of AASW. You can also find jobs as Family Support Worker or Welfare Workers while you sort out that side of things.. don't give up hope.
 3. Hi there I was part of international recruitment into the NT last year but when the NT Government changed in September 2012 they scrapped that stream of recruiting. Lots of us came over on 457 Visas and have got Permanent Residence via RSMS but I'm not sure if they are still doing it, if you look at NT.gov Office of Children & Families website I think it does still encourage international expression of interest. Be mindful it is very different to the UK!! I did not have to have an AASW assessment as it is the GSCC or HCP registration they were most interested in. If you are able to get over on your partner's visa there are still a good amount of jobs in NT overall so work is available to fill in until you get a post or I know they were saying we had 45 vacancies for posts in Alice Springs if that is somewhere you would want to be based?? Hope that helps.
 4. Country: England City: Brentwood Name of clinic: Hartwood Hospital Price adult: £290 (Includes HIV and chest X-ray) Price child: £185 (aged 11 - 14), Date: July 2012 Comments: Extra cost if you cancel and have to re-book of £75!, easy to deal with, well located, very good service overall. We are a family of 6, 4 of us went one day arrived 9.30am all done by just after midday. Husband went to a Saturday clinic (good idea to fit around work). Would definitely recommend, maybe not the cheapest but efficient and organised. Not heard anything back from DIAC about the outcome of the medicals yet but I am lodging RSMS on shore when I arrive as already have a 457 visa to go over on. Will add any updates later if appropriate.

Thanks for the response to my thread. Do you recall any questions they asked you? Did they ask you any specific questions relating to NT or they just wanted you to show YOUR understanding of CP based on your UK experience?

I will appreciate hearing from you.
