  1. Hi there, Myself and my girlfriend are both 23 and are living in the south of brisbane and are looking to make some new friends. We're finding the whole migrating thing pretty difficult at the moment and finding work and gaining licenses for pretty much everything and would love to meet some people who have been and done it or currently going through it all. We are fun and outgoing, love an excuse to get to the beach and just out to meet some friendly people
  2. Hi People First of all thanks for looking at my post, I'm pretty new to all this. I'm on a 176 visa and I have my plumbing and gas qualifications from the UK, I'm living in Brisbane at the moment, but have found out its likely to take 6months+ to get my QLD license, so my question to all you people out there is, I know that different states do things differently but it it a faster process in any particular state???? I've heard in can be completed in WA within weeks?? is this right and if anybody has some phone /email details I would love the help. The situation is crazy, they give you a visa and then make you re-train I'm 23 and it angers me so I feel for the people that have been in the trade for 20 odd years. Its a real struggle and Im contemplating heading back to the back UK instead of being bent over financially and still struggle to find work here. Anyway hopefully you can help me out, appreciate your time Josh
  3. thanks everybody for the help, its a big reassurance. I have to say I'm impressed with how quick you are to help on this forum  Obviously i would work in SA if it can offer me the job i'm after but it seems i'd be better off elsewhere, so lets see what happens.
  4. Hi Guys, I'm relatively new to this forum, but you've already helped me out loads and I'm hoping I can pick your brains once again. Basically I've been granted a state sponsored 176 skilled migrant visa. My state of sponsor is SA, and I'm looking at flying in July as my initial date of entry deadline is August. However, my problem is I am now seeking mining work in WA therefore I don't plan on spending any time in SA, I know this isn't morally correct, but what I would like to know is A) will this cause me any problems in the long run? B) do I have to notify SA and if so how do I do this?? Look forward to hearing from you, Josh
