Hi Kimsdu That was a great post, so interesting and positive. It is wonderful to hear that the move has been so good for you two. We have our visas now and will be coming over to Margaret River area in August to check things out. Hubby is a plumber and also surfs, although dont get to do much of that living in London. We are a family of 4 (2 small kids) looking to come over for good towards the end of next year. I realise you don't use this site much anymore but would love to get in touch I have so many questions and perhaps you could offer some advice. Congratulations CC14 - You are so lucky all this waiting is over! Hope you don't mind me asking you a question - How long after your meds were refered were to asked to go for additional tests? I am asking as mine were refered due to the and old scar on my lung. The panel Doc said (on the report) that it could've been due to TB - I have never had TB?? And have still NOT been asked to do further tests. Mine was refered on the 18th Dec - 489 visa - Team 33 thanks and good luck

Hi Dan That is the exact form that we submitted, way back in November and the case officer hasn't asked for anything else or said it wasn't right so I think it's ok - Good luck

Congratulations paget01 We are also with team 33 and my meds were refered on the 18th Dec - hopefully ours will be next - fingers crossed as we are desperate to book our holiday to WA, will only leave for good end of next year. Good luck with your move - where in Oz are you headed?

Hi EngMario We are also with Brisbane team 33. My CO is L Rowlands. My medical was refered on the 18 Dec 2012 and I am still waiting. On the 14/03/13 CO advised that he thought it would take about another month but he hoped it would be sooner. Its such an awfully long wait and I'm really finding it difficult to still be patient. Goodluck and I hope you hear something soon.

Congratulations garyupnorth - Wow it's all happening at the MOC - My medical has been refered for 15 weeks now, so hopefully some good news soon, great to see so many visas been granted.

Hi and Congratulations on your visa grant - Wow there seems to be a lot of activity on here at the moment which is great. I have just checked my online application status and for the first time since I lodged it the health and a few others have gone from reading "Required" to reading "Received" I am so so hoping that this means that the case officer is close to finalising the medical and granting our visa - Please - does anyone have any experience of this happening to them? Dont want to get too excited just yet Congrats to all that have got their visas. ?

Tell me about it!! I'm sure someone posted on here that the MOC were working on meds from around Nov 22 - and that was probably over a month ago already - you do have to wonder what takes so long over there!

Hi Everyone I have just received an email from my CO saying that the last report from the MOC stated that they were looking at medicals from 22 November and that since my medical was refered on the 18 December I should expect to wait at least another month but CO hopes it will be sooner. So terribly frustrating, it's only been 3 months but I really feel for those that have been waiting years. It probably wouldn't be half as bad if the CO and MOC could keep us updated on what is going on. Hoping we get good news soon.

Hi RichWJ Wow! Congratulations, you are so lucky, just tried calling the number you posted but its just a recording which says the number is no longer in use....At least for you your wait is over. Our medicals were done on 7 Dec, mine was referred, so I'm guessing I probably have about another month still to wait.....

Hi Candygirl We went for our medicals on the 7th Dec '12 and only after not hearing anything for ages I contacted the case officer and they said mine had been refered to the MOC - I have no medical condition. When I asked the case officer why mine had been refered his reply was that everyone that applies outside Australia gets theirs overseen by the MOC, if the MOC doesn't see any problem the medical is finalised straight away, however if they suspect any kind of medical condition then it takes months to get finalised. Still waiting and it's been over 3 months now. Also our online status has never been updated and still reads 'medicals requested' Hope you don't have too much of a wait.

Congratulations Paul Wallace. It seems like you have had a really long wait. Can you confirm when you did your medicals and when they were refered. I think the problem is the case officers not bothering keep us up to date with what's going on. Well at least your wait is over. Good luck with the rest of your journey over

Hi We are applying for the 489 visa for WA. Just found out a couple of weeks ago after emailing CO that my meds had been refered to the MOC. We had our medicals done on the 14th Dec. We were told by the panel doc here that they found slight scarring on my lung, which they said could indicate a previous history of TB???? - have been vaccinated for TB as a baby and never had any lung or chest problems ever, except for a few minor coughs with the colds you get. Anyway the case officer said he didn't know how long the MOC would take to send the meds back. Our online status still reads In Progress. Judging by this forum it looks like we are in for a long wait. Congrats to all those that have had their visa grants!

CO got back to me and said my medical was with the MOC and they were just waiting for it to be sent back, but not sure how long that would take (they found slight scarring on my lung????- Never had anything wrong with my lungs, maybe a chest infection from years ago. who knows.
