  1. Hi, I'm new to all this and not very clued in on the various visas. Basically we are looking to emigrate to Aus but neither of us are on the skilled migration list. We are engaged to be married next April and hoping to move after the wedding. We have 3 young children. My fiance has recently set up his own photography business (landscapes, weddings etc) but his background is in Insurance (20 years). I am office admin. He has a brother who lives in Sydney and I have an uncle and cousins in Melbourne. We know his brother can't help us as he is in NSW, but we were wondering if my family in Melbourne might be able to help by way of family sponsorship? It also just happens to be that one of my cousins is also a photographer with her own business. I can't seem to find any information on extended family sponsorship, and as I say, I'm not up to speed with all the various visas available. Can anybody help? Thanks so much.
  2. Does anyone have any advice for me? surely someone can enlighten me as to whether there is any way around our situation? Have I posted my question in the wrong place? Thanks
  3. Hi, I'm brand new to this site, and also a bit clueless at the moment about the whole visa thing (not quite sorted on which is best one to apply for) So, myself and DP are currently living in Ireland and both unemployed having both been made redundant in the last couple of years. We have 3 very young children, (a 3yo and 9 month twins). We've been wondering about emigrating to Oz (Perth) but neither of us are highly qualified, although both of us have worked all our adult lives (20 years each!) So I'm looking for office manager / project admin type role, and DP has always worked in Insurance (although is currently training to be a Database Designer). We both score the 65 points needed, but neither have experience in any needed job/skill. When DP is finished his course, he will be qualified but without experience in that field. So far, even with the 65 points, we've been told we are not suitable at the moment for a visa (not even got as far as deciding which type!) It all feels a bit desperate. We are in a mess in this country, scraping by week by week to feed our family and pay our bills on social welfare (don't get me wrong - really appreciate what we get, but it's still not enough) and its no life. There seems no future here for us, but now it seems we could be stuck here. Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom? Neither of us are lazy people, both have earned good salaries and paid our way up until the last couple of years. Living hand to mouth on social welfare does not sit well with us, and we just want to get working again and build a future for our family. Sorry for moan, feel really down about our situation. Any one any advice? Where do we even start? Thanks
