  1. Al good advise guys thanking you. As for leaving it long enough I think that's why my flight isn't until October so have some time to think things through. I could have went over much quicker and that would have been bad for myself so god knows.
  2. Hi Guys, has anyone migrated to Oz by themselves? Reason I ask is I recently split up with my ex as she didn't want to come with me. On one hand I want to stay here as I miss the ex a lot and figure happiness is more important. On the other hand I want to still go to Oz as that's always been my dream. I have visited before and love the place, plus I now have a permanent visa. The lifestyle, weather and standard of living in Oz suit me really well. Can't say the same about the UK although my friends and family are here plus I would be with my ex of 2 plus years. If anyone else has been in a similar situation any advise would be great (flight due to leave October 5th).
  3. always costs more to fly from Scotland than London
  4. Wow I still can't believe how much they are charging
  5. That's flying with Ryan Air then Etihad so much better. Luggage with Ryan Air is a bit more but I think your screwed either way with that
  6. To be fair it's 4 flights and with baggage it's takes it up to £400. Found another way and that's flying to Dublin for £15 then getting a flight to Perth for £399 boom. Shows we are being shafted in the UK
  7. Just need to check luggage allowance then I'm good. Not for everyone I know but to hell with paying another £300
  8. Found a cheap way to do it but it's a crazy one. Edinburgh to Oslo then Oslo to Bangkok then Bangkok to Kuala Lumpar then onto Perth. Takes 2 days and is a long one but I got a total quote of £292 for the complete single trip. Think I am going to do that as you get robbed blind booking a single paying close to £600 for it. Rip off Britain!
  9. You don't like direct flights did you say? How come? Thought that would be a good thing
  10. Thank you very much. I will definitely try even if it's the hardest thing I've ever done
  11. Is is that a single or a return? Best I can find for about then is £458 from Edinburgh to Perth with 2 stops.
  12. Cheers jumpingjillybean all useful advise :-)
  13. Ah it just wasn't for her. She tried a holiday there and never liked it. As hard as it is I am still going as its my dream.
  14. I highly doubt it. Plus KLM probably won't be as favourable with their baggage allowance :-\
  15. Hi Matt Love the username :-) heading out to Perth myself probably in October but before if the right opportunity comes about. Think your definitely right though, throw myself into the deep end. Thanks again Trevor
  16. Down to £457 for October 13th from Edinburgh :-D
  17. I have saw cheapish flights with Etihad but no its with KLM and Singapore Airlines from Edinburgh
  18. Haha it's a slang name for us really, good to know he's a Rangers man. Yeah every fibre in my being is saying no especially as I have to break up with my partner but I know it will all be worth it. Maybe not straight away but it will come ?
  19. Defo agreed. Will be looking at that also ??
  20. Brilliant, will be keeping my eyes on the airlines directly also. Apparently about 3 months before you leave is best to book.....
  21. So far I'm getting a single from Edinburgh to Perth with 2 stops (no long stop overs) for about £470 odd so not bad so far. Tried IMO but they change way way more although the extra baggage is useful. Cheers guys for all the advise.
  22. I looked and it doesn't look initially like they can beat sky scanner but I'm keeping my beady eyes on them ?
  23. Thanks for the advise Maryrose. I have my heart set on Perth but I guess it all depends on work etc. I will defo be looking for a flatshare as thats what I have been used to in the past. Good to know there are Spurs clubs over there, I will be most likely going to the Rangers club in Perth for all my sins haha. Went there before and its always useful to meet people from back home. Funny I think its worse for a single person than a couple as the single person doesn't have anyone else whereas the couple have one another. Folk would assume that the single person is grand as they don't have anything or anyone to answer to but it ain't as simple as that :-D Don't have a job but my aim when I get there is a flatshare and also work so will be on that asap. I doubt I would get something before as that is very rare for an employer to offer a position for the type of work I do without actually meeting me. I could always look online beforehand just in case. Sounds like it worked out for you. Thank you again :-)
  24. Just wondered if anyone has migrated over by themselves? I am doing this in October and honestly, I am s**ting myself :-( Just wondered if anyone else was in the same boat as me and how they coped..... Cheers
  25. No no I did not actually :-(
