Yep its frustrating. Christmas and New Years were good distractions but the benefit of these distractions have been offset by the passing of the 6 month mark (and I feel for those who are waiting longer).

 

I do think the Dept would benefit from being a little more transparent regarding what appears to be longer that usual processing times but I have to say I don't envy the people presumably working in resource constrained teams who have to deal with all of the calls.

 

Hindsight is a fine thing but the worst thing I did is register with Immi so I can check my visa status myself. I have to ration myself to 1 check a day and even that is non-value add as any changes will get auto emailed to my MA who is very responsive.

Our MA has the login so we can't check as they do others in the workplace too can we create our own login too or not?

so my question is as we put in nomination in may and our visa in august when they look at our nomination will they look at our visa too or will we be waiting 6months + from the date we lodged the visa?

Nomination still hasnt been approved we had to lodge the visa on 19/08/16 as our 457 ran out on 22/8/16

were roughly the same as you just had an email from migrant saying an 8month delay so dont expect a approval until mid next year???

Our lawyer submitted our 186 today

Nomination was submitted in may sometime

How do we see the status of our application? I know it will be a while

Thankyou! We thought we had to do the health checks now. They will be lodging the nomination after the new year. We are not planning to go back to the UK for a few years yet. Do the UK police checks expire? Our ones were done 2012

starting to get documents ready to start our 186!! scary stuff. We were eligible to start it in October but the lawyer is extremely slow... We have just done our australia police checks need to do our UK ones again (I think) and not too sure if we need to get a health check done?

currently on 457 which runs out August 2016. Family of 4 my partner is the one being sponsored and is a Mechanic on the Gold Coast :-)
