    Manly Vale

Thanks for info. I'm not planning on driving anywhere other than on school run. Seems reasonably priced so far, I'm struggling to find areas I can afford!
  3. Hello, Just wondering if anyone knows Manly Vale at all. Does it take long to commute to the CBD and are the schools any good there? Looking online it seems a good area, parks not far from beach etc. Any help appreciated
  4. When Are you looking to move across? An au pair may actually be a good idea, I should look into this. Its difficult trying to get them settled its taken my youngest such a long time as it is.
  5. Hi Rupert, Good point! I dont really want to go above 900 per week, but I earn a decent wage and hopefully Hubby will too. We only pay 500 now but we know we got a bargain and can afford more. Im worried about the commute to the CBD and having to get back to pick up children from day care.
  6. Thanks Petals. I see that there are a lot of similar questions with some great answers. It took so much research coming to WA and now doing it all over again.
  7. Hello all, I am thinking of asking to be transfered to Sydney from WA. I have to be honest its the last thing I thought I would think of doing having only been in WA for a year. So I know that WA is overpriced but looking at the housing in Sydney I can see its generally more expensive. I would be working in the CBD and have 2 young children so I would want to be near good schools ( and after schol care) and as easy commute as possible, I'm thinking within 45 mins would be good! In terms of renting I'm on a fairly good wage but dont want to pay a fortune, though I'd rather be in a house. I hope this is realistic but basically I dont know whats good in terms of suburbs areas etc. I work in Sydney fairly often flying in from WA so I know how bad traffic can be, but if public transport is good then I'd prefer that to driving! If anyone has any suggetions on where to look based on schools and transport I'd love to hear them
  8. I guess I will have them ask them afterall. Thanks for help...hope you dont end up in NT
  9. Actually in the electronic visa it does say: Location/Postcode of proposed employment: 6000. If its proposed then do you think it will matter?
  10. Thanks all. I did look at the visa conditions and there are no restirictions from what I can see. There is a proposed location in my contract but thats my employment contract and not my visa. I've scoured the internet and various documents but im not seeing anything.
  11. Thanks so much for your response. I couldnt find anything anywhere. Its one company now so I'm hoping I can convince them its a good idea :-) It will save them all the travel costs too!
  12. Hi, I arrived in WA almost a year ago on a 457 visa. In this time the company has gone through significant change and facing issues do to the mining downturn. I'm a little concerned than after I've gotten PR (assuming I can) then I may be out of a job in the long run. I have a family and I want to get settled as currently I'm a bit in limbo. I'm looking at transferring to NSW as the company has an office there and I'm working full time part on site and part remote for that company. After that has finished there are a lot more opportunites for my line of work in Sydney. My question is does anyone know if I can do this? I dont want to approach my company until I know if its possible. I've searched everwhere and cant find the answer! Thanks for any replies
  13. Thanks all, will keep in mind all of your tips and help. I have sent one final email to their cutomer affairs team now as instructed to do so by their online help....
  14. Thanks Rammygirl. I will def be sending them a letter :-)
