Hello, I have been living in Australia now for 1 year. When I first entered I only had a Holiday Working Visa, and so I purchased 1 years travel insurance. Since arriving I have been granted my Temporary Partner Visa (SubClass 820). My anniversary for arriving in Australia is tomorrow on December 19th, and hence my travel insurance will expire. I have been trying to research if I am required to still hold travel insurance, or if there are any complications with travel insurance due to my Partner visa. Can anyone offer me some advice, as to whether I need travel insurance or am I covered at all by medicare under my current visa. At present I don't have any private health cover.
