  1. Some sort of beach club has caught her interest. I'll have a look with her tomorrow. Thanks Naomi. Sending her to the UK isn't an option for us as a family. Thanks for replying though Quoll.
  2. Hi, my daughter who is 16 is struggling with our move. Homesick and missing friends. Any 16-18 year olds out there bored in the holiday and want to socialise? Or any tips for making friends? We're in Forestville, but near the bus route to northern beaches and city. Thanks Talie
  3. So far our favourite has been Collins Beach. The arrival of the ice cream boat makes our day.
  4. Hi we arrived in Forestville a week ago. Our 8 year old girl has fit straight in at Forestville Public School. We are loving the area. We wouldn't have thought of here but are staying with friends made through the forum. As soon as we arrived and looked around we loved it. Easy bus ride in to the city/Waringah Mall/Chatswood/all northern beaches. Lovely little shopping area, nice parks and it's so friendly. We're having a great time. Message me if you'd like to know more. Talie
  5. We didn't mean to fib about our conditions, just never gave it a thought. It's harmless and common like living with a mole... I don't think we pointed out every one of those either. I was just giving some advice from my own experience. Our Dr's didn't give us any information about Gilbert's so I assumed we wouldn't be able to get or need a specialist report, actually no I didn't even think about it at all. I sometimes get thrush too, is that a medical condition I should have disclosed... Ali you've come across as being pretty mean. you're comments have kind of put me off trying to help people on this forum. I have a thin skin as do many people who are also put off giving their opinions. It's a shame people can't all be nice to each other. itegoa I work in a hospital where I just nipped and asked the Dr's about what to do. They all said it's nothing and not to bother. Your choice of course, wouldn't take any more than the GP letter though. Good luck with the medicals and the move.
  6. Hi My husband ans I both have Gilbert's syndrome. Neither of us disclosed this at our medicals because it doesn't cost the health care system anything. There is no treatment required. Talie
  7. Hi, I'm hoping for help on what some job roles are called in NSW. I currently work as a Cord Blood Collector in the UK. I am moving to Sydney in November on a permanent residency visa with my husband. I would like to do the same job role and have seen that the Sydney hospitals do offer a cord blood donation programme. Do any midwives know anything about who carries out this service? Is it the midwives? If this isn't possible I was thinking the skill set would transfer to a support worker role in sexual health or maternity but am struggling to find any information about what qualifications are needed etc I have a level three diploma in young people's workforce and venepuncture certificate. Thanks Talie
