Need help. My husband did his skill assessment (Customer Service Manager) last year (based on Overseas qualifications & work experience) but has just completed his Masters Degree in Australia last month. I would like to know can we claim for the Australian Master's degree and does the Australian degree need assessment

Can anyone give me any pointers who applied from within Australia for SS to ACT about what needs to be written in the Summany about Family in Australia for the ACT SS as that is asked in the SS form.

The assessment was made with overseas qualifications equal to Associate Degree.

Would like to know if points for overseas employment only from the skills assessment can be claimed for the EOI as the assessment was done first and the Postgraduate degree was completed after wards. The postgraduate degree has been completed from Australia so can points be claimed as

15-points for the Master's degree,

5- points for Two Years Study in Australia and only

5-points for assessment of overseas employment equivalent to 3 years.

Also will his MBA degree have to be assessed by the relevant authority to claim points

My husband has completed his MBA in Australia and we have already received a positive skills assessment for an occupation on the state sponsorship list for ACT. Can we claim points for his MBA to enable us to apply for the subclass 190. He has completed his IELTS as well. Help is requested please.

His skills assessment is for overseas work experience.

Hi, I wrote to the ACT department for clarification and the below is what i received

The ACT government does not nominate under the 489. However, relatives can sponsor.

His occupation is on the ACT and SA state list. If he clears the IELTS with all 8's he can apply for 190 state sponsorship as he will have enough points to support his SS application for both states.

I think that he will have to give the IELTS another shot. That is our only option.

Customer Service Manager is his occupation which is only on the CSOL of ACT and SA. in ACT it is in the closed occupations list and SA says Special Conditions Apply.

So now what ....

Oh God. We were hoping that we could apply for the 489 instead of the 190. As we are short of points. He will be extremely devastated as he was preparing to apply for the EOI for subclass 489.

Points claimed for IELTS is 10

Points for Vetassess is 15 (overseas qualifications & work experience)

Thanks Ozmaniac for your response. My husband is in Australia his occupation is on the CSOL. Can his sister be his sponsor for the 489 visa subclass in ACT. Because i read on the ACT website that state does not have access to 489subclass visas. Don't know what that means.

He is doing his Masters currently, not too sure if we can claim points for his degree once he finishes. We are 5 points short for the subclass 190.

IELTS are done. Vetassess is completed.

Reassessment is a waste of time and money.

Can anyone tell me if an occupation is closed in a state can we still apply for state sponsorship if applying from within Australia but not living in that state.

My husband had applied for Vetassess Occupation Customer Service Manager. We had applied on 12/04/2014 got a positive outcome today 14/08/2014 finally. Thank God. Can anyone tell me if we can apply for state sponsorship SA if we have points below 60 for state sponsorship. My husband gave his IELTS in 2012 will those test results be valid.

Congratulations... We are still awaiting a response from Vetassess. We submitted our vetassess application online on 12/04/2014 and status still showing IN PROGRESS.. Hope we get a positive outcome.
