  1. Hi all Thanks for the replies, that makes me feel a lot better! Hope we're lucky enough to have ours come through as quickly as yours both did x:unsure:
  2. Have just had a quick look on the website, I wonder if an extended passport would be ok to use (instead of a renewal) and would it be any quicker to get one of these? Thanks
  3. Hi everyone Thanks to all for the advice and info ( lol sorry I asked now, but really needed to know!) oh well on the plus side, Ill know what to expect now
  4. Hello everyone, Just a quick question, my husbands uk passport has expired and he needs a new one, as his employers are in the process of starting our PR. Could anyone tell us how we go about getting a new one, we are in Sydney Thanks in advance Mummysboys
  5. Hi all Thanks for the replies, hubby is a nurse, so hopefully it might be one alternative xx
  6. Hi all, Just need a bit of advice really, we have been in oz since feb this year, I am sponsored on a 457 visa and am currently working full time (38hrs per week) I am quite desperate to reduce my hours to 3 x 10 hr night shifts, as opposed to 3 x 12 hr night shifts, which I am currently doing, as its not feasible at the moment with having children etc. I contacted the DIAC last week and was told my employer and myself could negotiate (as long as my base salary does not fall below $51,400) an arrangement etc, as it does not matter how many hours you work, just that the base salary does not go below that amount. I asked my employer three weeks ago, if there was any way of reducing my hours etc, but I have not heard nothing back yet, (as I am a bit dubious, don't want to annoy/rock the boat so to speak!) My husband works full time, (this was another option mentioned by the DIAC, that if his employers are willing to sponsor him, then that's one way of me being able to reduce my hours, but just wondering how this works, has anyone ever done this? what would the cost be and how long would it take to do? Sorry for all the questions, but just need some advice/info about whether it is feasible to do etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance mummysboys
  7. Hi blossom79 Thanks for the reply, he's within the age range (23) so he can actually apply/get one while he's still here? and if so, how would he do it, would he go to the immigration in Sydney? sorry for all the questions, but not to sure how to go about it! Thanks again xxx mummysboys xx
  8. Hi all, Just after a bit of information really, we have been over in Sydney for 12 weeks now, my nephew is over to visit us on a holiday visa, (where he can visit us but not work) and is due to go back to the uk in two weeks, is there any way of him getting a whv or sponsorship whilst he's here? What would be the quickest/easiest way, if possible of him doing this? He has been to the immigration in Sydney, but was told to go and find a sponsor, (he wasn't asked what his skills were etc, and it was only a quick 2 minute chat) but any advice or information would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks mummysboys

  10. Hi all, I received my ahpra reg this morning  and my medical was finalised this morning too  I am going to ring the diac tonight to see how my visa status is, the only thing I am not sure about is health insurance. Do we need this before we can get the visa? or can we get temporary insurance of some sort, until we get over to oz and then get medicare stratighaway, really not sure what we need to do, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

  14. Hi all, Apologies for the rant, as it does seem a bit hasty, :embarrassed:but my only concern is the job, I know theres nothing I can do but wait, and whatever will be will be.... but from experience I know exactly what aphra can be like, as hubby lost a job last year whilst waiting for his reg to come through, as aphra only took twelve months to grant his registration!! after losing the first set of documents!! But thanks for all the advice, now its time to chill....enjoy the wait.......relax........and wait some more...........X all part of this wonderful process...... mummysboys x
