  1. Thank you kind people, that is really helpful (as always). Yes my Visa is still valid for another 2 years so whatever happens I should be fine getting in and have plenty of time to find another sponsor. Also since writing that post a couple of internal opportunities have come up and I've seen increased support from my employer so hopefully it will all work out. Again, many thanks!
  2. Hi Everyone, So my current situation is a bit crazy, as always any help is greatly appreciated! I am currently on a 457 visa and being sponsored by my employer. 2 Day's before they could make a nomination for my PR application, They made me redundant effective June 30th. This means they cannot nominate me for permanent residency until I have secured another role within the organisation. I'm working hard to secure another role so hopefully it wont mess me up to much. Just when things couldn't get any more complex, I will be going back to the UK for a holiday for 5 weeks on 20th of August. My main questions about this situation are; If I fail to secure another role in the company, or another company, will I be allowed back in to AU without employment? If I secure a temporary role (maternity cover), will my employer be able to nominate me for PR? Even if they hope to have me in the Organisation for the next 2 years? If another role in the organisation is not obtained, what are there obligations to me as a sponsor? I read somewhere ages ago that they would be liable for paying for a flight back to the UK? My companies redundancy package will be as minimal as they can make it. However because I have committed so much to the organisation under the assumption that PR nomination would be achievable (verbal agreement from them at the start of my sponsorship) I'm feeling a bit ripped off. I feel like I've committed to them for a long amount of time only not to have the commitment back from them. Where do I stand? There's no love lost (yet) and we are in talks around the best way to make this work and keep me in the organisation in the right role. I just hope we can pull it off!!! Any advise or clarity around any of the above questions would be most appreciated. Many Thanks, Leswan
  3. Hello Friends, My Buddy became a PR in 2010 (originally from UK). He is about to go on a few holidays this year but has some concerns about his visa expiring and that he may not get back in. I haven't heard anything about PR status expiring (unless one spends over 12 months out of AU). But just wanted to check with you guys as you always put my mind at ease through all this visa drama! My question is, if his visa expires this year, what should he do? Can he renew it? And does it even expire at all? Appreciate any help or advice with this one but understand it might not make much sense. Peace, Leswan
  4. Hi Everyone, People on here are always really thankful so hopefully you can help me with this one! I'm just gearing up to submit my 186 ENS PR application. I noticed on the check list the following check; Licensing and registration – Must hold at the time of application (if applicable) Evidence from the relevant Australian registration or licensing authority that the employee holds full, unconditional registration or licensing for the nominated occupation. As I understand it, the ENS does not require a skills assessment? Like if my employers are nominating me for a social work or Youth Work position, Immi do not require a skills assessment to be carried on? I hold a BA Hons degree in Youth and Community Work. Would anybody be able to point me in the right direction please. Many Thanks in Advance! Leswan
  5. Would anyone be able to estimate how long I might be waiting for the processing of my PR application. Assuming all the information is there. Also any resources around what is required for the application would be most appreciated. Many Thanks, Leswan
