That doesnt sound too good, at least he can run about once hes up. It's so sad seeing them get old (both dogs and family). My dog has his slow days to and then other days like a pup! The plan was for him to retire at his grans house, we have another younger dog but theyre inseperable so we werent completely sure about bringing her with us. She'll miss him a lot when its time for him to go
