Hi there I'm in the process of having my contract here in Australia made permanent and am debating the issue of my personal leave entitlement. I was seconded to Australia 6 years ago but have worked for the same company for almost 20 years. I am being told by my employer that due to due to local Australian law, my 13 years employment in the UK counts for nothing and my entitlement is only based on my 6 years employment here in Australia. Firstly, is this correct and secondly, even if this is what Australian law dictates, surely a separate clause can be added to my contract at the discretion of my employer allowing me additional personal leave due to my time served in the UK?? We are seeking an Administration Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis (approximately 20 hours per week). Whilst experience of working within the insurance industry is beneficial, it is not essential as ongoing training will be provided. Your overall roll will be to provide support and back up in respect of data entry for new policies and renewals, manage correspondence and communications with brokers and provide general administration support as required. To be considered for this role you will ideally have the following: • Strong written and communication skills • Efficient and effective administration skills demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (including Word, Excel and Outlook) • Minimum of 2 year experience in similar administrative position • Experience of working in a small office Salary is dependant on age and experience.
