  1. Hello there, it dawned on me it is my 1 year anniversary of being back in the UK! So, I just wanted to check in to say Hi, and also to check out, as I don't really have time for the forum much these days.

Good luck to all who are still on their journeys. I have no regrets at all and am daily thankful to be here! :wubclub:

  2. We opted for a middle of the road quote coming back, once packed up they then informed us they had underestimated (how? they came and measured before and we also removed some big items!) and required another $800 to make the goods leave Australia...we had no choice but to pay, then said goods waited another 6 weeks to leave resulting in us making do for 3 months sitting on cushions....oh the joys.

  3. Oh dear - sounds like a real glut of "calls" at the moment! Hope the end is not too agonizing for you!

Got the call again...he passed in the night so we are off to Italy to arrange everything. Hope your OH is bearing up xxx

  4. I'm so sorry Quoll. We got the call last week and are still waiting for the agonising end, it is very sad. We kind of knew this might happen, which also prompted our move back last year. It is never easy is it? Hugs to you and yours

  5. Eeeee exciting! Ok, so, selfishly I have said north as I would be more likely to attend and not have to drop out last minute. For one in the south, I would have to let it go ahead and decide if I could go nearer the time. But I will deffo make the effort and really hope we can make it happen this time!

  6. Sorry to read this. I guess if there had been no reaction at all it would have been worse? He sounds quite scared probably, and his anger is bubbling to the surface. If you can plod on and stick with your plan I think he will turn up on your doorstep some time from now, just a hunch....you need to do what is best for Olivia and you, lots of hugs xxx

  7. Hugs. In my last months in Oz I was near to breaking point, and my circumstances were very similar to yours. I went to see a reiki practitioner, who was also a professional counsellor, and found that helped very much. Breathing/relaxation are also key (to me) for managing my anxiety and I have recently started yoga to see if I can become a bit stronger, if there is a class near you it might be a welcome distraction? Take care of yourself and feel free to PM if you would like a chat.

  8. Liking Lidl at the moment, nice selection of continental stuff in the deli counter, and good wines. I can almost get a full shop for 25% less than Asda. Then it is just Asda for toilettries and brands I need. Never go to Tesco, don't have a Waitrose.... will sometimes go to the food hall in Marks, but just for a treat and never a full shop, and occasionally Sainsbury when I'm feeling flush!
