1.

We all flew out here last Thursday arriving in Perth around 2.30ish pm. We have a holiday rental for 6 weeks while we look for a more long term rental, still sussing the suburbs out at the moment. we have sorted a bank account, medicare and our TFN and today we bought a car, well, a small 4x4 hyundai Tucson. The weather is a little hit and miss due to some bad storms at the moment, however in between them it's lovely and sunny. We all love it so far, the adventure is gathering pace and we love it, sure beats UK.

 6.

Had to laugh at the upside down 'W' you always make me smile when you respond. Caravan, now that does sound interesting! The Ielts does my head in, I have actually achieved 8's in every section just not all in the same test LOL! At least i know i can do it. Have a grat time in thailand, sounds awesome.

 7.

Hi Laura hope you're well. I got the good news today that my skills assessment was successful. Just got to pass this bloody IELTS now!

 8.

Hi Dave, Thought i would let you know my skills assessment was successful, Happy days. Just got to pass my IELTS now LOL!

 9.

Received confirmation of my skills assessment today. Yipeeee!!!!!!

 10.

Hi Dave, I hope all is well. Results are due on Thursday, although i don't think i will be very happy with them as i am positive they will be worse than before. The good news is i have had a job offer and i'm having a medical in May. If all is successful my family and I are hoping to be out there in July. How is the process going with you?

 11.

Hi Laura, I had a nightmare day i'm afraid. I was feeling really ill and should of cancelled to be honest, I couldn't even talk properly on the speaking teast. Nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, the good news is i have had a job offer so i will be having a medical on 1st May and then look at getting a 457 Visa. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Hi Dave,

I'm not confident with this one. I should of cancelled really as i was full of cold and my throat was killing me, i even struggled with the speaking. Nevermind! The good news is I may have a job offer on a 457 Visa and if they are happy with me will sponsor me on a PR after 18 months.

 13.

Hi Laura, I'm back in France working so can't always get online. I have had all my details for the test day, Speaking is at 16.40 so a long wait after the first three test. What time have you been allocated?

 14.

She is only three and keeps going on about Australia already. She looks at housescwith me and does a running commentary on who has which bedroom and where her toys will be, not forgetting the swimming pool she wants. LOL! Kids!!!!! When i took my last test i got seven in writing which is a repectable score, since then i have done alot of reading for the writing section and have realised the mistakes i made, silly ones really. I am hoping i can do it this time, i just hope the other sections don't let me down. If i am not successful then i will get a tutor.

 15.

Not sure about what the academic is like, but i am confident if you got scores like that then the general should be a doddle. I have done some reading and some grammer work for my writing so i hope that will be enough. If i fail to achieve 8's this time i will get a tutor before my next attempt. i do feel a little better about it this time.

 16.

The good news is part one of the project has been achieved, well done! Part two will not be a problem for you. When are you booking for? mine in the 12th April.

 17.

Any news Laura?

 18.

I have been working from home recently so every day is a day off LOL! Weekend will be a bad one as my little girl is poorly so won't be able to do much this weekend. I will probably do work on my laptop and syrf the aussie sites for more info on Oz. LOL!

 19.

So were they waiting for you?

 20.

Ha Ha, sexed crazed mental health nurse, it sounds like the title of a film. I know what you mean about getting addicted to the site, i'm addicted to anything Australia at the moment and need to stop as it is not healthy. LOL! Have you had your results yet. I really do need to uncross my arms and legs.

 21.

i always end up chucking at your comments. That was my first interview in 22 years, my last one was to get in the Army. I think what is annoying is i know i can do the job on offer and have a proven track record for my skill set, however, trying to get that across to others is not easy and as it is not something that i have previously done or comes naturally. I do believe if you want something bad enough and you work at it, it will come, like you said we will get there eventually. Anyway i fell over laughing with the first interview story i can just see the faces of the interview panel. LMAO!

 22.

Hi Laura, Thanks for the the moral boost. I am so annoyed with myself for not being more confident and forthright with my answers, i have been stewing on it all bloody day, i could kick myself. Anyway another day and life goes on, you never know she may actually like me and offer me a position, O yes, pigs may fly too LOL! Hope you had a good day and i look forward to hearing your results.

 23.

Hi Laura, I have to say i think that was worse than the IELTS. I really did not enjoy that experience and because of the slight delay it made the conversation difficult at times. I thought it was going really well and felt quite confident and then all of a sudden her tone changed and she seemed to be distant and distracted, she finished by saying they had lots of applicants still to interview and she would inform me of my progress within two weeks. I did not feel confident at the end of it and felt i fluffed it a little as i did not actually say what i wanted to say at times. Nevermind eh! back to the IELTS, LOL! The things we do to try and get a better life!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spinning - i have had some of that and hated it. I would rather run a marathon LOL!

 24.

Laura, you are my entertainment and my sanity. I always smile at your posts as they make me feel happy and always make me laugh. I will be wearing a shirt and tie for the interview, i do hope it goes well. The job is for a camp manager for the mines in Western Australia, looking after the facilities and hospitality side of mining support. I have extensive experience in facilities management especially in remote areas due to my Military experience. I will let you know how i get on. You will ace 7's and i am sure you won't be far off 8's. My fingers and legs are crossed for you. xx Stay of the moet and get back on the Red wine better for you.

 25.

Hi Laura, You make me laugh. I have not had the chance to do much revision yet as work is keeping me busy, i got back from France on Sunday with a bucket load of tasks to do before the end of the week, so a little busy. The plus is, it has taken my mind off it for a while which has been very refreshing. I have a Skype interview tonight for a job in Oz, so if i am successful i am probably going to go on a 457 Visa for now. How are you doing? I am sure you will get good results. I left school with nothing and i didn't do to bad on the IELTS so a degree educated lady like yourself will easily get 7's, i have confidence in you,. Stay positive as you will probably be surprised. x
