  1. SORRY ALL INCOME IS TAXABLE.

If I gave you 5 quid as a gift that is an "income" that is taxable The fact that you declare it or not that it is a transaction is another story and the tax mans only consern is ALL income is taxable it up to you to tell the truth.

QUOTE=Rupert;1936468444]This is not income, it is a gift. And no it is not taxable.

  2. There's so much to do here too that don't cost an arm and a leg.

I have a very different story of the uk as although my parents are well off both have had there hours cut and the same for my brother all living in SE Kent. Friends are out of work and struggling and many shops and local businesses have closed down. Those that have work are pulling long hours over seven days just to make ends meat.

  3. I rest my case laughable......

Too easy to hide behind a alleged position. Anyhow my comments are bang on the mark. Don't see what immigration would have to disclose. Besides personal opinions. Hardly front line detention centre stuff. Any thoughts on policy? Any thoughts on how the system can be run in an appropriate manner?
  4. You would think it is that easy in some cases it is not I'm afraid. You will need at least a copy of the visa grant letter. Even then you may still have difficulty. They just can not seem to grasp the electronically attached to your passport bit!!!

Hi - in order to submit a 457 visa application we have been told that we need to show a certificate of health insurance simply to cover the period of the journey, until we can enroll on Medicare on arrival (from our advice, this is as simple as walking into a Medicate office and showing your passport). Travel insurance companies won't cover us, even though this is a simple, low risk, time-limited period because we will no longer have a UK address, and they need that should there be a claim.

So who have folks been using to get this kind of cover?

    thanks!

  5. I truly believe that to be emigrate successfully you must integrate and not compare.

Your favorite juice is most likely NOT here (this in relation to a report by a British couple in the paper last year that returned to the Uk as the final straw was they could not get their daughters favorite juice, her daughter was apparently 21!!!!)

  6. I didnt bother for the first year. But try HIF it aint cheap though me and the other half its around $190 a month!!!! There is always the reciprocal health care option from medicare but be warned they have no clue. They will tell you you are not entitled to it.

  7. hiya... I have decided to sell my car in the uk before emirgrating to perth. i have been looking at cheap little run arounds just to start off with but they all say Excluding Gov Charges next to the price.

can anyone tell me how much any charges will be etc just so i dont get any suprises when we come out there. thankyou :)

As stated it the stamp duty made payable within 14 days. There is also rego to consider as most are not likely to come with any or much left. Try and find ones with a few days left and make sure there are no defects pending. This could cost you big as they try and off load a defected car cheap
