  1. Hi lazybones1987

Please read again carefully, I think you are falling in this case even though you was released for final processing following your queue day but it's hasn't been finalized yet because the new limited visa number in new financial year. My friend's situation is same as you as well:

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Delays in final processing

There was a significant reduction in the number of visa places made available by the Government for Other Family visas in the 2013-14 programme year from 1285 to 585.

A large number of applications had already been released from the queue in 2012-13 but due to the reduction in visa places for the following year, in many cases final processing has not been able to progress. This relates to Carer visa applications with queue dates to 31 March 2013 and to Aged Dependent Relative and Remaining Relative visa applications with queue dates to 30 June 2011.

This delay in final processing remains for the 2014-15 programme year.

If you have been notified of being released from the queue, but your application has not been finalised, you will be contacted again by us only when final processing of your application can resume.

As at July 2014, final processing for Carer is currently progressing for applications with a queue date up to 28 June 2012. For Remaining Relative and Aged Dependent Relative final processing is progressing for applications with a queue date up to 21 January 2010.

This information will be updated only when final processing dates are extended.

Once the number of visa places that are available in the current year is reached, applications that have been queued and released for final processing, but are not yet finalised, will be considered for a place in a subsequent year.

  2. Hi Daniel,

If so, it doesn't make sense for asking us submit those medical check/non marriage supporting...etc which are valid one year only. When they requested me for further documents, they told me there is a visa place available!!!!!!

I know there is a capping, and the reduction of visa places.Although I have paid AOS, maybe the waiting time for me is 6 years.

    Date Applied: 2010 year

    Date on queue: Feb 2011

Waiting time: 3 yrs + and counting.....

I am not sure about particular case. However, I heard some people got same as your situation. I think because it's global queue and you guys was going to be finalized at the time between 2 financial years (for example: there's a place for released in previous financial year but couldn't be finalized in current financial year because less more available visa places) so you have to wait for subsequent years although everything's ready and done for visa grant.

  3. Hi guys

Make sure that you understand clearly the Other Family visa process from IMMI:

These applications will be considered for final processing as a place in the Migration Program becomes available. Once the cap is reached for visa places that are available in the current year, applications that have been queued and released for final processing, but are not yet finalised, will be considered for a place in a subsequent year.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It says when you get your queue day and yours is released from global queue, it doesn't mean your case are going to be finalized to receive the visa. The release from global queue is just the first step for you to reach the visa grant. You should wait for a available visa place for you in current financial year as second step to move on the finalization. If the cap is reached, it means no more available place in that financial year ( this year is 500 totally for Other Family category, and I guess for Remaning Relative visa places is about more than 100/less than 150, around there). So you should get long long wait I think and even they don't know how long it takes for individual case :(

  4. Hi Daniel,

Yes, that's normal. I've lived in 3 countries in the last 10 years and I've obtained a police clearance certificate from all 3 countries. Your friend applied in May 2010 and hasn't been given a queue date yet? Wow, I wonder what queue date they will give him once he hands them all the required documents.

    Hi lazybones1987

My friend is very upset because he advised the immigration agent (this is so bad agent, I think) to take care his case but they didn't ask him to provide it at the beginning. Not good enough at all!! Now he has to chase it that could be delayed on his queue day allocation. Well, fingers cross!! :(

  5. Hi guys

Just quick update from my friend's case whose being applied onshore about May 2010, he has just received the call from IMMI to meet character and health requirement for allocating his queue day. But he is also advised to supply the character paper from our country to reach this step successfully??? WTH??? Even though he applies onshore?? The case officer said that because he hasn't been living around 10 years in AUS so that's the reason he needs to provide it for IMMI???

Now he has a problem to get this certificate from our country within 28 days, unless his case will be decided following its current circumstance. I just want to share this experience to everyone who hasn't been assessed yet for well-prepare in the future. My friend is struggling to have it ASAP for them.

    Good luck everyone

  6. Hey coolio

I say YES if you are applying onshore as us!! Because the validity of medical and police checks is just a year. More than that, you have to re-do again. Normally, it comes back when a CO is assigned to your case for final review. So, the first check is just only for allocating the queue day. Details on IMMI website:

    http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/other-family-visa-queue.htm

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remaining Relative and Aged Dependent Relative visa applicants

Applications for Remaining Relative or Aged Dependent Relative visas with a queue date up to 30 June 2011 are now being considered for final processing.

Further information for applications that have a queue date from 1 July 2011 will be published if any further releases occur during the 2012-13 year.

It is currently estimated that lodged Remaining Relative and Aged Dependent Relative visa applications, that have not yet been assessed, are likely to take up to 14 years to be released for final processing (calculated from 30 November 2012).

[h=2]Applications lodged in and outside Australia[/h] If you lodge an application for an Other Family visa in Australia you will need to meet health and character requirements for the visa before you are placed in the visa queue.

If you lodge an application for an Other Family visa outside Australia you will not need to meet health and character requirements before you are given a queue date. However, health and character checks must be successfully completed before an Other Family visa can be granted.

  7. Hi guys

I think stokenewington's case is much similar with mine when I gave them the police and health checks at the beginning in my application. That's why my case would speed up more than. Since about a year when getting a visa, time flies so fast. But would like to share my timeline again for anyone regards:

    - Application date: 5/3/2010 ( with police and health checks without their request)

    -Queue date: 7/4/2010

-CO assigned for final review (police and health checks in second time, AoS): 13/4/2012

    -Visa granted: 18/5/2012

    - Waiting period: 2 years

    Cheers

    Dan

  8. Hey sleepywombat

Did they require you on paper to make AoS appointment as well? If yes, congratulations you are on final process. Otherwise they just ask you to do medical and police checks for queue line only, like lazyboy1987 case in last couple of months.

    Hey naseefoz

We are just about 835 or 115. I don't have much information about your case to share around specifically. You should see Migrant Agent for more advance advices

    Cheers

    Dan

  9. Hi curlysue32

Thanks for your question. I did apply 835 Remaining Relative onshore on 5th March 2012 and have been granted a visa since 5 months ago after 2 years wait ( lucky case I think ). For the work condition, if you're holding a visa with no work condition, you need to apply a hardship form to IMMI to be eligible to work lawfully here ( your bridging visa will be the conditions with the previous latest one when you apply for 835 ). For example:

If you were oversea-student and hold student visa with work condition, your bridging visa A would be active with the same work one.

If you were a tourist and hold tourist visa with no work condition, you would not be allowed to work lawfully during your 835 visa processing time by your bridging visa A.

Please take care of yourself and don't forget that you have to apply for bridging visa B if you wish to travel oversea during your 835 visa on process. You also have to pay 100 AUD for this visa with its term about 3 months travel.

Any more information on available on IMMI website immi.gov.au

    Cheers

    Dan

  10. I have no idea why. It took 3 years for them to appoint a case officer and now I get this queue date. How much longer will this take? I'm really tired of waiting tbh.

I am really worry about your case. If you get your queue day now, it might take approximately 12 years to finalize your application. :( At least you can stay here during long waiting period, but it's a little bit difficult for you to travel oversea ( have to get bridging visa B to re-enter lawfully ), can't get approval of the asset loans: car, house or personal loan and employment privileges via Centrelink

Anyway, good luck on you! Be positive!! :)

  11. Update on my case: Applied in Feb 2010 (Onshore), Case Officer assigned: May 2012.

Case officer has just advised that I will be placed on a queue after assessing my case. I don't know how long this is going to take now

How come, lazybones1987! Even though you had applied before me ( mine is 5/3/2010 - onshore ) and I have been granted visa since one month. Unbelievable!!

  12. Hi BMJ11

Thanks for your question. I confirm that I applied on-shore so my subclass is Remaining Relative ( 835 ) not 115 for off-shore. For those that be interested about timeframes of applications in 2010, I am willing to share with all of you my application process below:

    - Date applied: 5/3/2010 - onshore

    - Date on queue: 7/4/2010

    - CO assigned: 13/4/2012

    - Visa granted: 18/5/2012

    - Period: 2 years

For my understanding, during 2 waiting years, I don't know exactly how many times I did contact to DIAC every months ( I applied by myself, not through immigration agents ) and get some information.

    1. DIAC has terminated the increase of this visa numbers every year. If it would be happend, that's not reasonable/many

    2. Timescale can vary following the particular case of each application and case officer, so don't be surprised when someone applied after you but they get first. Like buying tattslotto ticket :) ( I got my friend had applied before me in December 2009 but has not been finalized yet )

    3. The official visa numbers for Other Family category on 2012- 2013 will be announced on DIAC website soon in next couple months. So at the meantime, I have heard it would get more 35 seats for us and if it were correct, I have no idea how many ones Remaining Relative could receive when we're always in low priorty for Carer, Aged Dependent :(

Anyway, good luck to you guys

    Cheers

    Dan

  13. Hi guys

I have got visa label in my passport after have been assigned to CO in last month and finished all of her requests ( medical, police checks, AoS and update/fill some forms ) :)

My queue day is 7/4/2010 but I don't know why I got a call earlier. So that's good news for me and for you as well who have been assigned to CO. Maybe your application is being finalized, good luck to all of you!!

    Cheers

  14. I see from the above link that there is a mention of a temporary visa that may be suitable for me so that I can move to Australia whilst awaiting my LRR visa grant. Can anyone shed some further light on it for me please. How long does it last? Can you work on it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi perthbound60

You could be able to be granted a visitor visa to arrive to Aus while your application is on process. Its term can vary and depend on particular cases, there's not accurate period you can be here ( normally 3 - 6 months I think ). See your nearest AUS embassy or consulate general in your country to get more details. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to work here lawfully with visitor visa.

    Cheers

  15. Just to update everyone, I got a mail from someone in immi stating that they are currently "assessing" applications lodged in 2009 & before, so it might be a while before they get to other applications.

Thanks for your update, lazybones1987, because there are just 150 visa places in this financial year 2011 - 2012, so it's not sure we ( 2010 guys ) will be assessed with queue day pre 26 April 2010!! Maybe later on!!! :(

  16. Hi both,

I have noticed that the mail was acknowledged by the Australian High Commission in India (application filed from Australia by agent to India . Wondering if the processing will be done by them ? I think both your answers are similar in the sense that a queue date will be given if the application is 'straightforward' and processed and then when visas becomes available, you will get your visa. I wonder what is the status right now of how many visas have been granted for this year so far ?

Hopefull all will get their visas quickly.

    Good luck !!

    Hi Ozzieland

Here's link on IMMI that shows 2011 - 2012 Immigration planning program and some of FAQs about Family stream where we are going on! Hope that would help you! :)
