  1. Hi lazybones1987 Please read again carefully, I think you are falling in this case even though you was released for final processing following your queue day but it's hasn't been finalized yet because the new limited visa number in new financial year. My friend's situation is same as you as well: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Delays in final processing There was a significant reduction in the number of visa places made available by the Government for Other Family visas in the 2013-14 programme year from 1285 to 585. A large number of applications had already been released from the queue in 2012-13 but due to the reduction in visa places for the following year, in many cases final processing has not been able to progress. This relates to Carer visa applications with queue dates to 31 March 2013 and to Aged Dependent Relative and Remaining Relative visa applications with queue dates to 30 June 2011. This delay in final processing remains for the 2014-15 programme year. If you have been notified of being released from the queue, but your application has not been finalised, you will be contacted again by us only when final processing of your application can resume. As at July 2014, final processing for Carer is currently progressing for applications with a queue date up to 28 June 2012. For Remaining Relative and Aged Dependent Relative final processing is progressing for applications with a queue date up to 21 January 2010. This information will be updated only when final processing dates are extended. Once the number of visa places that are available in the current year is reached, applications that have been queued and released for final processing, but are not yet finalised, will be considered for a place in a subsequent year. 2. I am not sure about particular case. However, I heard some people got same as your situation. I think because it's global queue and you guys was going to be finalized at the time between 2 financial years (for example: there's a place for released in previous financial year but couldn't be finalized in current financial year because less more available visa places) so you have to wait for subsequent years although everything's ready and done for visa grant.
  3. Hi guys Make sure that you understand clearly the Other Family visa process from IMMI: These applications will be considered for final processing as a place in the Migration Program becomes available. Once the cap is reached for visa places that are available in the current year, applications that have been queued and released for final processing, but are not yet finalised, will be considered for a place in a subsequent year. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It says when you get your queue day and yours is released from global queue, it doesn't mean your case are going to be finalized to receive the visa. The release from global queue is just the first step for you to reach the visa grant. You should wait for a available visa place for you in current financial year as second step to move on the finalization. If the cap is reached, it means no more available place in that financial year ( this year is 500 totally for Other Family category, and I guess for Remaning Relative visa places is about more than 100/less than 150, around there). So you should get long long wait I think and even they don't know how long it takes for individual case

  7. Totally agree with ryanshaw!! You just give a lot of valuable information for us to look overall our situation! Thanks a lot
  8. I really think that due to the Cabinet has been changed, the Immigration and Citizenship is merged with Multicultural Affairs to become Department of Immigration, Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship with new Minister so the visa process would be more delay.
  9. Nightmare for everyone here!! I think Carer visa will have about 300 seats, the rest of things will be divided between Remaining Relative and Aged Remaining Relative. Estimation is around 100 Remaining Relative available places for everyone around the world in a year. @_@ Unbelievable!!!!
  10. Yes, respect your thought but for my opinion, I would like to contact directly to who make final decision for my case (whatever they advise) rather than someone else never can be able to do that job and have to take care a lot of people not only me. Immigration always encourages clients look after their case by themselves rather than Immigration agencies if they're confident. P/s: Example my case, I applied Remaining Relative visa Onshore in March 2010 by myself and got a visa a year ago, it is just 2 years wait. My friends and few people here had applied before me or after me just 2 months even though haven't got visa until now. Most of them applied visa Immigration agency.
  11. Hi Domnok pleang All the queue information you can find out on Immigration website, don't believe any advice from migration agents: http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/other-family-visa-queue.htm I know it's dump/terrible news for you and your sister but unfortunately, it's realistic. Let jump in our post group to share with everyone who having same situation: http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/93110-other-family-visas-cutbacks-delays-new-post.html Good luck to your sister Cheers
  12. You are getting there, so close now! Just about 3 weeks to finish off everything and then your visa will be granted Congs, mate Cheers
  13. Hi lazybones1987 My friend is very upset because he advised the immigration agent (this is so bad agent, I think) to take care his case but they didn't ask him to provide it at the beginning. Not good enough at all!! Now he has to chase it that could be delayed on his queue day allocation. Well, fingers cross!!
  14. Hi guys Just quick update from my friend's case whose being applied onshore about May 2010, he has just received the call from IMMI to meet character and health requirement for allocating his queue day. But he is also advised to supply the character paper from our country to reach this step successfully??? WTH??? Even though he applies onshore?? The case officer said that because he hasn't been living around 10 years in AUS so that's the reason he needs to provide it for IMMI??? Now he has a problem to get this certificate from our country within 28 days, unless his case will be decided following its current circumstance. I just want to share this experience to everyone who hasn't been assessed yet for well-prepare in the future. My friend is struggling to have it ASAP for them. Good luck everyone
  15. Hey coolio I say YES if you are applying onshore as us!! Because the validity of medical and police checks is just a year. More than that, you have to re-do again. Normally, it comes back when a CO is assigned to your case for final review. So, the first check is just only for allocating the queue day. Details on IMMI website: http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/other-family-visa-queue.htm ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remaining Relative and Aged Dependent Relative visa applicants Applications for Remaining Relative or Aged Dependent Relative visas with a queue date up to 30 June 2011 are now being considered for final processing. Further information for applications that have a queue date from 1 July 2011 will be published if any further releases occur during the 2012-13 year. It is currently estimated that lodged Remaining Relative and Aged Dependent Relative visa applications, that have not yet been assessed, are likely to take up to 14 years to be released for final processing (calculated from 30 November 2012). [h=2]Applications lodged in and outside Australia[/h] If you lodge an application for an Other Family visa in Australia you will need to meet health and character requirements for the visa before you are placed in the visa queue. If you lodge an application for an Other Family visa outside Australia you will not need to meet health and character requirements before you are given a queue date. However, health and character checks must be successfully completed before an Other Family visa can be granted.
