  1. Hello, I've read that chip passports only verify holder's passport details and contain no records of entry or exit. In fact exit stamps have only just been re-introduced in UK precisely because there were no records.!!??
  2. I'm UK Citizen and our 2 children have UK citizen passports, Aus wife got Indefinite Leave to Enter UK while we were in Aus in 2011, we went to UK in Mar 2012 and stayed till Jan 2013. Now returning to UK at end of July therefore wife has been out of UK for 2 years and 6 months and ILE has technically expired. My wife has no exit stamp from UK in her UK passport, nor an entry stamp back to Australia in her Aussie passport, therefore my question is will UK know that she has been out of the country for more than 2 years? I know that they were getting some embarkation info from airlines about people leaving UK but apparently not from all airlines. Would UK Immigration just ask us when she left or, seeing no exit stamps, not even bother to ask? Or, if they did ask and we said we left under 2 years ago would they accept this? Just Asking like!!

    UK Spouse/Settlement Visa

I only had about $9000 savings but we sent an estate agent valuation of our house(they do it for free) plus a statement of our mortgage account to show how much we owed, thus showing the profit we were likely to make. Our ILE visa has just arrived 12 days after we posted it.

Nice one J & C, my application went in yesterday, had to remove all the documents from the folder 'cos they wouldn't fit in the damn AusPost Platinum 3Kg Packaging grrrrrrr! Hope they'll be my friend too!

That's what I'm going to do, plus send an unnotarised copy that they can verify themselves and keep, this will save them a job and make them want to be your friend!

    UK Spouse/Settlement Visa

Hi All - Am moving back to UK and applying for spouse visa for wife, our money is mostly tied up in our mortgage and we cant sell the house till we get the visa. In order to show sufficient funds to support ourselves would it be alright to show a professional valuation of the house and our bank statement showing our mortgage debt thus showing our equity in the house. We reckon we'd have about AUS180,000 available but only after the sale. Would UK accept these documents as proof of sufficient funds - surely lots of people are in this position. Thanks in advance Ricrog
