  1. Hi, I am not sure where you stand on your convictions, however my husband was charged with possession of cannabis. We declared this on our application and got our visa with no issue. It was however 20 years ago so i dont know if that made a difference. Good luck, where theres a will there is a way dont give up hope

  2. Hi, I have submitted an app for NSW 190 - I completed the Form 1221 and have had a request for more documents (they just wanted our police certs as we were waiting on them!) our police certs have now been uploaded but we haven't been asked for a Form 80 to be completed nor did I know that we needed to complete a Form 80?! Am I best off completing this or waiting until they ask me for it, if they ever do? Thanks :)

Hi, they may well not ask for it, but just in case they do I would get it completed now. Its a nightmare of a form, sooooo long and some questions may take you a little time to answer. For example they want to know all the jobs you've ever had (Inc dates) every time you have left the country in the last 10 years (Inc dates), it is quite time consuming. I was asked for form 80 and form 1221 for both myself and my husband, luckily I had already completed these so I could just upload them. It is best to be prepared I would say and just have it ready to go should they ask for it. Don't forget to complete one for your partner also if they are included on the visa application.

    Good luck with it all

  3. Hi,

We are hoping to make the move to NSW in February 2017. We are planning on bringing our dog with us. Well he is going to be staying with my parents until we are set up and settled and then they will send him over. We are planning on getting his rabies done before we leave and my parents will do all the other vet bits prior to him leaving. As we have no firm date of him leaving the UK my question is how long is the rabies valid for? Does he have to fly 180 days later or could in come out in 12 months say?

The whole flying pets things confuses me more than the visa for us did.

    Any help appreciated

    Thanks:animal-dog:

  4. A couple extra related questions for anyone who can help: for proving work experience with DIBP, can you use Statutory Declarations in lieu of reference letters/statement of duties? I used a Stat Decl. with Vetassess as I don't want to inform my employer right now of my intent to emigrate as it will be detrimental to my employment and there is no guarantee of getting the visa. My job is R&D Manager and with Vetassess I used Statutory Declaration, employment contracts, payslips and tax records, reference letter from the previous CEO of the company, and then copies of scientific papers, conference presentations and patents that I have authored/given/been inventor on to support my application. The papers and publications cover a number of years. Would these together with Vetassess' assessment be sufficient supporting documentation?

Can I submit this and if it is not enough, wait to be asked for reference letters or with demonstrating work experience are you assessed on what you initially submitted?

I had the same dilemma, i too submitted a stat dec for vetassess for the same reason however for the visa application i didnt want to risk it, in the end i bit the bullet and asked the HR department for a reference, i just told them i needed it for a mortgage application. My duties were not listed on there so i also sent a copy of my job description and contract (along with the usual P60s and payslips) Hope this help

  5. I second the above, i did the PTE Academic and found it pretty easy on the day and got a superior score so full 20 points. As for your original question i was invited by NSW 2 weeks after submissionof EOI back in December. I applied and was accepted 2 weeks later. Hope this helps.

  6. The doctor stripped you to check your mouth, ears, reflexes and to listen to chest. :err:

Never heard of anyone being stripped before, we definitely were not.

Yes,he felt around the stomach area also and looked at arms and feet, even checked between my husbands toes, i think they were looking for track marks. I guess every clinic / doctor is different but a couple of others who have used Spire in Manchester had the same experience.

  7. Finally after a long and rocky road, we have woke up this morning to the all important email, we are now the proud holders of a 190 visa. The best birthday present I could have hoped for. We are thrilled to bits and cannot believe our luck. I just wanted to thank everyone for their help and advice along the way, we navigated the process ourselves without an agent and this forum has been invaluable.

See you all on the other side.....

  8. Hi cjenky & Pommie679

I also applied on Feb 7th and had my 190 visa granted this week - happy days!! Full details below.

Hopefully not too much longer for you guys to wait - I know what you mean about checking emails!!!

Good luck and fingers crossed they'll come through soon xx

Congratulations!! Hopefully wont be too much longer for us then? I find the waiting the most difficult part of the whole process (Well the wait for Vetassess was pretty bad too.....17 weeks)

I don't know how many times a day I check my emails its that many (which is pointless as the Aussies are asleep when im checking during the day duh!!) I also hate when Fridays come around as I think damn ive got to wait the weekend now lol

Hope you get your grant soon Pommie679 fingers crossed x

  9. what did the medicals entail please?

    Blood test x-rays??

Ours was at the Spire in Manchester. They were great. Our medicals entailed the following:

Nurse - Height, Weight, Blood Pressure, Urine test, Eye test, Blood test

Doctor: Stripped to underwear, looked in mouth and ears, felt around neck area, listened to chest / back, tested reflexes

That was it,no where near as scary as I was anticipating :)

  10. Hi all,

We submitted our application for the 190 on the 7th February 2016, we were contacted by a CO to get our medicals and police checks done, we uploaded these on the 19th March and have been waiting since, no further correspondence from CO and no visa grant. The processing time for a 190 visa on immi is 3 months. Now I know the processing time is just a guideline and some take less time to process and some take longer.

My question is, is the 3 months from when I submitted the application or from when I uploaded the info the CO asked for. My 3 months was up on the 7th May if the count down begins from when application was submitted. How many of you have received your grants who submitted applications in February?

    TY

  11. I have 3. The eldest is 14 and was an only dog until the age of 5. We then got Marley (who is now 9) Harvey was not sure at first but with in the week they were best buds (They still are) Dogs are pack animals so although they do perfectly well in families as only dogs their natural instinct is to be part of a pack so in that respect I think a 2nd dog is a great idea.

You just need to make sure the 2nd dog is a good fit for the 1st. There is a natural order of things in dog packs. We were lucky that Marley was happy with his place (Beneath Harvey) otherwise it could have been a different story. They have never fought but I do know others have had the problem of an almighty fight to determine the pecking order.

So yes I believe a playmate for your dog is a great idea but pick wisely.

Never a dull moment with 2.

  12. I was asked for form 80 and form 1221 for both myself and my husband. They didn't ask for a CV for my husband though, they did however ask me for proof of our relationship when I had already uploaded our marriage certificate?? Weve been married for 7 year. I would try not to worry as said above I know it is easier said than done

  13. Great news...I was just looking at these and wondered if anybody had any experience with them. Thanks!x

They were great, no hanging around, in and out. I was really nervous so blood pressure was high nurse told me not to worry they would take it again once I had chance to relax. They did just that and it was fine. We went on a Friday and when I checked immi account on Saturday morning they had already uploaded our results.

  14. I took ielts several times and the best were with the lowest band 7 in Academic which I needed for CPA registration and lowest 7.5 in General ... I am not a native speaker...

I did 2 tests from pte academic "gold kit" and found them much more difficult than ielts... The worst is reading and I scored 55 points after 9 in ielts general reading...

As we know there are all the basis to suggest that ielts is a dirty business profiting on sucking our blood and ruining our lives and why other test owners should be less cinic ?

I do not share all the fascination about pte , it may be some sort of promotion or easy for native speakers ...

I do not for one minute believe PTE is some sort of promotion or easy for native speakers. Easier perhaps as it is our mother tongue. I studied hard for my test, every evening 3 weeks prior to the test. I have never sat IELTS so cannot comment.
