<p>Help please, we are in Oz at the minute and are on a 457 but have applied for PR. We didn't need medicals coming over as we are from your side of the water but now we need medicals for the PR. I am a BIG girl and although I have lost 2 stone in the last 2 months I am still a good 7 stone overweight and I am absolutely petrified of going for the medical incase they refuse visa due to my weight. I have read thru your post and you have a great result, did they refer you to a specialist in the end?????? Any advice would be greatly appreciated</p>

<p>That quote from careline was very good I thought it would have been €5k and over so I will be giving them a ring so. We have pickfords coming out next week to give us a quote. We are hoping to take most of our furniture too as I can't bring myself to not take the boys toys, beds etc. They don't even have a clue we are going, my eldest just loves his school and teacher and even his house - he tells me Mammy I am never leaving this house even when I get married as I love it here.... Better record that as I would say he won't believe me the day he is 15 :-) I must keep an eye on the board for the girl from greystones, it's great to know there are other doing the same. <p>Wow, a wedding and a move in the space of a month :-) Brand new start that is so exciting, i bet you can't wait for both. No we never been to Australia nevermind Canberra :-) My husband is South African and I lived in SA for a good few years (did all my schooling there) so we have been told it is very much like SA without the serious crime element...... so hopefully we are all not going to be let down :-)</p>

<p>No we haven't sorted accomodation yet but with John heading out before us that will be his task. From looking on the net we are going to be looking at the area I mentioned yesterday until we find our feet. I am a childcare worker and there is jobs for me there but a little of the same here childcare costs an arm and a leg and as we are not on PR visa we don't get government assistance so I am hoping to work part time and get a place for the kids to give us some "spending/exploring" money.</p>

<p>Hi surhythms Just noticed that you from Dublin, we are in Kildare and heading to Canberra in next 6 months. DH was offered a 457, he is going when the visa comes thru (+/- June) I will be heading out with the 3 kids in August. When are you heading out? I see you have daughter going to Secondary School, our eldest is in Jun Infants now so will be in Kindy for the rest of year before start year 1 in January. I too am really confused as to what school to send him too and to make it worse he is in a great "little" school (35 kids in the whole school) and all ACT school are really big :-( but I am hoping that he is still very young that he will settle in quickly Please God :-). We are thinking of Amaroo or Ngunnawal for settling as John's works is in Mitchell so it is the most "affordable" area close to work. Are you guys thinking of taking furniture with you? We are trying to get quotes from a few places as I really can't leave everything behind. Anyway enough rambling chat soon</p>
