Shipping Alcohol

As part of my leaving gift from work I was given a 700ml bottle of Absolut Vodka. The packers arrive in two days and I'm just wondering if this can go in the container? It is unopened and there is no way I can get the bottle drunk before I fly a week on Monday. I already have an opened bottle of vodka that is unlikely to be drunk in that time.
All I can find out on the interent is that there will be duty to pay on any alcohol within my "unaccompanied personal belongings", but no indication of the cost or likelihood that customs will let it through.
I know it is not an item of any importance, but seems a waste to not take it with me. I could put it in my baggage, but this will add weight that I don't have to spare.
Any thoughts/suggestions?
