1. Hi there Well am finally getting around to sorting out health insurance. I'm trying to figure out the best cover with BUPA, but it seems that even on the top cover, orthodontics are only covered to a couple of grand. Now at least 2 of my kids are going to need braces, which if my (not very intensive) research is to be believed, is going to cost around 6k each. My friend has travelled to Phuket several times for dental work and reckons it has worked out massively cheaper. I'm wondering if anyone has done this with their kids -- it's one thing doing it for myself, but I'm not sure if it would be wise to bring the kids abroad for treatment. Has anyone any advice? Thanks

Hi Dearbhla,

I hope I'm posting to the right place -- only just found this message! Yes, I knew someone was from Kilcolgan but I couldn't recall who! Wow, yes, my four eldest kids are in the Educate together in Kilcolgan actually -- small world!

When are you off? Our visa should be through any day (sigh) although it is very mixed feelings here in this house. The kids LOVE the school and myself and my husband are so happy to be back in Ireland but on the other hand, he quit his job in Abu Dhabi and so the money is trickling away and we need to be in Oz soon so he can start earning again.

Absolutely let's meet up, it would be nice to know someone before I get there...I'm knackered just thinking about having to make a whole new group of friends not to mention schools, houses etc... My number is 638698 and if you see a harassed looking woman surrounded by five kids in Kilcolgan, that's me!

Keep in touch
