Hi, I am currently in Oz on holiday, I have been offered a Plumbing job in Vic on a 457 sponsored job. I have been informed by a Visa company that I need to have a letter from the Australian Licencing to acknowledge my plumbing qualifications. Can any one tell me who I need to contact ? as the employer has said that they will give me 12 months to have my qualifications upgraded to Australian ones.

It is the scary part that is making me look for an agent, I don't want to spend all that money and then find out that I have made a daft mistake and then have to start again. Which knowing me this will happen. Thanks for the advise though, may let my OH do the paperwork and I just pay the bill.

Thanks for the advise folks, you have put my mind at ease as I was thinking that they were just after the extra money that they were going to charge and then say that they were unable to find me anything. I think that I will try another visa agent.

Hi, my wife and I are starting the Visa process and are looking to use an agent to act on our behalf. We have found one (The Immigration Advisory Service) and they offer to help you with employment in Oz, Has anyone used them before and if so What were they like to use as there offer seems too good to be true ! Thanks for the reply, I get daily job updates from Seek.com.au. When I apply for the jobs they ask if I have my C.E.C accreditation and I say `No' but I have my UK Solar qualifications I hear no more.

I don't know if anyone has asked this question before,but could someone tell me the difference between UK Solar qualifications and Australian CEC qualifications. I have my BPEC Solar Hot Water Installer & also City & Guilds Solar PV qualifications. What do I need to do to become CEC recognised ?

Hi, there is an Australian company called Training Stars who is now offering the White Card course in the UK. I did my course with them in June but they only offer courses in Birmingham and London at the moment. The course was £70 and you get your White Card on the day you do the course. I hope this helps.
