    Moving to Mornington Oct 11

Hi Shane Husband commutes to CBD, Monday to Friday, he drives, he does prefer driving to taking the train, but that is also an option, train ends at Frankston, so you would then need to make your way back to Mornington, however there are frequent buses from the station. Also if you get to Franston train station early enough you can park for free. He doesnt mind the commute 1 hr - 1 hr 15min as the peninsula is a beautiful place to live. Heather

    Salary Packaging and Tax

Thanks for the reply Parleycross. So being under 50, I'm entitled to package only upto $25k? Regardless of my basic salary ? Have you seen any decent ATO Guidelines on this, I have had little success finding any docs re Salary packaging or LAFHA

    Salary Packaging and Tax

Hi everyone, Can anyone advise if there is a % limit of the amount of your basic salary which can be "packaged"? I currently use the scheme for LAFHA and currently exceed 50%. Would this be an issue for the ATO? If so I think I best place LAFHA on hold until the end of the tax year. Thanks in advance

    Any childrens playgroups in Morningnton

Hello, I also live in Mornington, have been here for 7 months and love it. I have a 3 year old and a 10 month old. Happy to meet up and go to park etc. My 3 year old goes to Mini Maestros and swimming , this is where I have met other people and met other Mums at the park and we regularly meet up. I did put him into daycare but I wasn't too keen on it and have put his name down for 3 yr old kinder. PM me if you want to meet up Heather x

    Is Torquay to CBD commutable???

Thanks again for all the feedback. We have spent the last week checking out the various towns on our shortlist. Torquay (as many have suggested) seems a little to far from the CBD for us. Its a lovely place mind you, but maybe just for B/H weekends for us. Mornington seems to suit us better in terms of matching our needs, although still an issue with commuting. We are currently working out the fastest way for me to travel, either Frankston line or Eastlink. Although journey time is not much less than Torquay we just loved the town and the train stops in Flinders St not Spencer St (as is the case with Torquay) which is closer to the office.
