  1. Hi everyone

I applied on my niece behalf for a visitor visa 600. I made mistake and applied for a tourist visa as I was not aware of sponsored visit visa.

the officer refused the application as she believes the applicant hasn't provided her travel history and a genuine intention to return to her home country.

my niece is a 19 years old student and never travelled abroad. I explained this in the application as well so I am not sure why the officer is not satisfied

i am wondering is it wise to reapply for a family sponsored visa ?

what are the chances of refusal or approval ?

She is from iran and I am an Australian citizen.

    cheers

  2. hello everyone...

i have gotta a qustion whenever you apply any substantive visa should you recive bridging visa automatically or not ,my problem is in may 2015 i applied for 485 visa and i was issued a bridging visa A, then in august i applied 187 but for some reasons i have to withdraw my file for 485 in sep for doing that my bridging visa did ceased but to my understanding i was thinking i am on another bridging visa which i should get from 187 but that was only till october when i did find out about it i did had any visa basicaly i was staying illegally here without any visa.i requested department to issue me a briding visa which they did on the same day,and then in feb i recive my permanent residensy.everthing was cool till yestrday when i was trying to apply for citizenship online i could not do it coz system says i did not fullfill residensy requirement, when i did ring immi lady told me i did not had any visa between sep to oct so thats why i am not fullfilling residensy requirement and now i can only apply for citizeship in 2019 c oz my 4 years will start from oct 2015 when i was issued a new bridging visa,i have been here from 2009,when i had talk with migration agent he told me i can do it coz it was immigration departments mistake who did not issue me a bridging visa for 187 when i lodged it in august so it was there system error,i am not sure wht sould i do here, apply or wait till 2019.

any help or idea will be much appericated ....

    cheers

    Hello Who care

This is a very special issue and I doubt someone can help you. However its ridiculous and at the same time terrible to have your citizenship application delayed because of a system error or mistake. In my opinion you should talk to immigration department. Maybe they can provide you with a letter or proof that it was their mistake and not yours and then you can lodge a paper application for citizenship.

I hope you can sort out this issue and get your citizenship soon.

    Cheers

  3. Hello everyone

not sure if this should be posted here. I ve been a member of this forum since 2010 and can say i wouldnt be in aussie land without the helps and supports of this forum. So first of all i would like to thank every and each member for being nice and helpful to me.

i am going to apply for citizenship in a couple of months. We are a family of three including my wife and i and our little Australian son who became citizen by birth. So basically my wife and i will apply for citizenship

i appreciate if someone can advise regarding the following questions:

1- should we create one immi account together and lodge our applications or seperate immi accounts?

2- which one would be faster processing paper or online?

3- i have an aweful handwriting so can i fill in form 1195 in my computer and then print it out? Or should be filled by hand?

4- we dont have a Australian friend to sign our forms so can we get assistance from someone else like bank tellers?

    cheers

  4. fair enough, thats all hopefully in the future, its about time the loophole got closed.

But at present there is no evidence of anyone being refused citizenship for breaking the moral agreement, is there?

i know someone who claims his citizenship has been put on hold for this issue. Frankly speaking i cant believe him as he does not give much details as to what DIBP has told him. He just says they dont let him do the test. The other day, I inquired the same from 4 different states by email and was told that it wont have any implications on citizenship or RRV applications. They all said you can live any where in Australia. Called DIBP twice and was told it has nothing to do with citizenship application and as long as you satisfy residence requirements you are elligible to apply. Have two close friends who were on student visa and got sponsorship from WA and never put feet on WA and had their citizenship applications approved recently. In my opinion if DIBP gas any problem with this issue, they can simply put a condition on 190 visa to restrict people from moving state.
  5. We were in a similar situation a couple of years ago. We could have applied for a 190 there and then, or waited approx 9 months (to get a bit more work experience) and go for the 189.

I was well aware that I could just ignore the moral obligations of the 190 visa, but 9 months wasn't long to wait for us (in fact, we wanted to leave it a little while anyway). So 189 made more sense to us.

If we'd have had no chance of getting the 189, we'd have gone for the 190.

It depends on your personal circumstances. Go for the 190 now (and risk possible changes to rules/laws in the future), or just do the extra bit of work needed to get the 189.

I reckon the changes will not affect the persons who already been granted a 190 visa. Please correct me if I am wrong

  6. Why on earth would you imagine they'll refuse the RRV? It is a completely different thing. And the clock does not start again so you will not have to wait another four years.

I'm guessing that what you actually want to do is get your citizenship and then go back to your home country, you don't really intend to make Australia your permanent home?

It all depends on tge job market if i manage to get an academic position or a posdoc position then will definietely live here. Specially i have an australian son and surely prefer to grow up him here. My wife and i love Australia but if theres no job then there is no point to stay here jobless and get centerlink payments. I am pretty sure that Australian government and people will not like this

  7. I'm wondering why it's so important to you, Reza - if you can't get citizenship right away, and you need to leave the country, just get a RRV as needed, and apply for citizenship later.

If they decide to reject citizenship application they may refuse to grant RRV as well. In addition its a matter of four years living in Australia. If i dont get civizenship and leave the country i will have to live in Australia for another for years to satisfy citizenship requirements.

  8. Hello

I understand this topic has been discussed many times in several forums. I would like to know if any one has obtained his/her citizenship application approved without completing the two years living and working commitment in the sponsor state ?

I spoke to someone who claims his citizenship application has been put on hold due to not fulfilling the state sponsorship commitment. However, I saw a couple of friends who had the same situation and had their citizenship application approved. I also spoke to DIBP today morning and was told that the two years commitment has nothing to do with citizenship application.

Any advise and true stories will be highly appreciated

    Regards

  9. I just spoke to someone in Philippines. The poor guy has applied in August 2015 and still waiting to get his PCC. He was told since September 15 no PCC has been received by embassy of Kuwait in Manila!!!

Have you tried to contact agencies in Kuwait ? I found some but they ask for a lot of money ( $1200 to $2200)

  10. Hello Aissiegirl

Nothing yet its been 14 weeks. Im gonna call the embassy on Monday. They had hala February festival las week so i guess there was no progress for 10 days or more. I ve approached my friends in Kuwait but they cant be of any help.

my case is a bit different due to my nationality but yours may be different and you might get it faster. Finger crossed.

    cheers

  11. Hello Aussiegirl

im in week 13th and still nothing. I contact some agencies in Kuwait and was told its gonna cost me 350-600kd to get the pcc through those agencies. I may do this if i dont get my pcc until April as i dont wanna delay my citizenship application. Could you please explain what they said exactly ? What do you mean by there is hold on something ? Have they not sent your application to Kuwait yet? And could you please share the email address of Kuwait government you contaced? Its Hala February fedtival in Kuwait and they gonna be off for week or more.

    cheers

  12. Still waiting game here , knowing our luck it will take the full 16 weeks to come back , I don't know why takes so long, all they have to do is put your civil number in check , and done

the time frame is between 10-12 weeks and i read somewehere the average waiting time is two and half months so hopefully you ll get yours on time. I applied for pcc twice when i was in kuwait got the first one in a week and the second one in 5 weeks so i think it all depends on who is processing your pcc. Please let me know if you received your pcc. How did you apply and when did you ?

    cheers

I applied for Kuwait PCC on 20-Nov-2015 ( document received by Kuwait embassy in Canberra). Its been 10 weeks and I emailed them yesterday. I was told that the PCC is still being processed and they will let me know if they have any information. Have you applied yet and got your pcc?

    Cheers

  14. Hi

My newborn baby Samuel was born two weeks ago. I was given centerlink application form when leaving the hospital. I have some questions regarding filling the application :

1- Who should be the main applicant ?my wife or myself ?

2- Who is the child main carer? my wife or myself ?

3- What is the medicare safety Net and how would I register my wife and myself for medicare safety Net ( the form says only one person can register and the other family members should register later) then again the first question arise who is the main applicant ?

Thank you and looking forward to your replies

    Regards

Thank you for your reply. I am sponsored by them and I have an issue and need to inform them. There is an email address in my sponsorship letter and I have sent an email to them but got no response.

I had their officer's email addresses as well and used to communicate with them via those email addresses but since have not been in contact with them for a long time do not know whether those email addresses are valid or not

any way, thanks for your links

    Cheers
