  1. If you received EOI than your points are locked in, no matter how long CO takes to process the paperwork.

It is at time of invitation.

EOI is Expression of Interest, points can change on EOI until a invitation is received.

Thanks, that is what I wanted to say, got my terms upside down, must go edit my first post.

  2. Yes, exempt, and deemed to be equivalent to overall 6 band. However if you need extra points you can always sit the exam and if you pass with 7/8 in each band you can claim additional points for superior english.Keep in mind that for certain educational assessment, i.e. teachers, you might need to sit academic ielts exam, and this is purely for skills assessment, not for visa application.

  3. So if me and my hubby validate it before the deadline what would happen to the children's visa? Would they lose it? Would it be possible to add them on at a later date? If so, how difficult would this be?

    Thanks

All must validate individually, and must enter at the same time or after main applicant (this is usually mentioned in grant letter).

If your kids do not validate by entering Oz they will loose their visas whilst you and hubby keep yours. Keep it simple and enter by due date.

  4. The pound to AU$ exchange rate seems to have shot up slightly over the last few days (we get more dollars for our pound),anyone know why this is and more importantly can anyone predict what will happen over the next couple of weeks? I have a fairly large sum to transfer before our move in mid January, do I take advantage of this recent increase or hold off and hope it goes up even further?

Generally trading volumes thin over Christmas and NY, so any currency movement is likely to be exaggerated, so it is very difficult to draw any conclusions.

  5. Hi all,

Looking for some advice on reapplying for a 189. Have just received a refusal notice for my original application as my skills assessment was dated after the date my visa invite (12 days!). I thought I had a valid skills assessment at the time of my EOI, but later realized Engineers Australia had omitted a year and a half worth of experience due to lack of evidence which put me below the required 3 years. I submitted further evidence to Engineers Australia to rectify this. My question is, seeing as how I unwittingly gave false information in my expression of interest, will this have on a negative impact on a new application. I have just submitted a new EOI. Absolutely gutted, thought we were in! Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

Should be OK mate, honest but costly mistake.
