As a newly qualified Registered Midwife (Diploma of Higher Education) I found myself to be so much more qualified and highly trained than my Australian colleagues. They have completed almost 1000 hours less practical training and were never given the opportunity to perform venepuncture, suturing or cannulation - hence why they have the grad year. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you all.
