Hi there, I specialise in recruiting within the radio communications and RF space in Australia. We are currently looking to network with candidates from Europe that has had experience particularly with TETRA networks and DMR. Currently we have an opening in Queensland and an opening in Perth. Both positions will process a 457 visa providing that you have the relevant experience and industry certifications to meet the visa requirements. Perhaps review my latest advert on http://www.seek.com.au/Job/radio-technician-tetra-specialist-relocate-to-oz/in/europe-russia-western-europe/24039898 and send through your CV and I will give you a call to discuss.
Thanks
Just noticed this and see it was last month. Do you have any other vacancies you are looking to fill for a senior Field Technician???

Hi,
Really want to move to Brisbane and have been offered a job but the wage is not as much as I'd hoped! Do people think a family of 4 could live on a basic wage of $55000? This doesn't include the superannuation etc.
We would hope to rent a 3 bed house in the suburbs not in Brisbane centre - maybe around Petrie area.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!![/TD]

we're a family of 4 on a 457 on $62k per year. We paid $360 per week rent when we arrived in 2011 and pay a little more now. We struggle as the food costs are much higher here but we manage. (just) we can't complain too much as we were both out of work in the UK and the lifestyle here is much better for the kids. BUT on a 457 with no assistance with childcare costs it's difficult for me to find work as daycare can cost around $75 per child per day. (Half days are not an option)
feel free to ask any more questions!! It's a hard decision to make hey??!!

Hi Gilly
We're thinking of moving to Brisbane soon - would you recommend Narangba to live in? We have 2 small children so we don't want anywhere too lively but not a graveyard either!
thanks,
james
Would definately recommend Narangba with two young children!!! The Narangba Valley state Primary is the best in the area. The High school is the 2nd best performing high in QLD!!!
Not too far from the beach at Redcliffe (about 20 mins drive) Good access to the City.
The school has a catchment area and can be difficult to get into as it is so popular. My advice if you are renting would be to register your details with all the local Real Estates before you make the move and you may find something quicker!!!
Check out www.narangbavalleyre.com.au
Any more questions, feel free to ask!!!

Hi Westbound. We eventually made the move in sept 2011. We didn't get the extra allowance unfortunately on a 457 visa. We got 30 kilos each with Emirates. We have found being here too there's a lot of things we're not entitled to on a 457! (Especially hard with children!) BUT we haven't let it put us off so far we have just learnt to deal with it! AND we are loving the lifestyle and living the dream!!!

Hi All
If anyone knows of a house coming up in the next couple of weeks in the Narangba Valley State Primary area, 4 bed, double garage, with or without pool - please let me know!
Required before 6th September 2012.
Thanks!
Helen :arghh:

We didn't have double luggage because we were coming on a 457, so we had to be careful about what we bought. We bought with us clothing and shoes, one towel each, a sheet and duvet cover for each of the children (so they would have something familiar), a few small toys, laptop, important documents such as marriage certificates, paperwork that we might need for arranging rental, bank accounts etc (100 point identification), external hard drive with a back up of both our pc (which was on the boat) and our laptop (which we brought on the plane). We also paid for four tea chests to be sent by air with www.sevenseasworldwide.com. I think it cost us about 500GBP for four 32kg large boxes filled with more toys and books for the children, other shoes and clothes, bedding and things like that. It was way cheaper than taking excess baggage, and arrived within a week.
Can you not get double luggage then on a 457 visa????
Thanks for the infor - very helpful!

Thanks for the replies guys. I don't remember using adaptors though when we visited in 2009. Are they 2 pin plug???

Hi Guys:wacko:
We'll be waiting a few weeks for our container so can anyone please advise on what to pack in our cases based on your experience??
I believe we get double luggage allowance each for emigrating so should I be packing bedding / kettle / iron???
I'm sure people who have already made the move must have omitted something that they wish they'd in fact packed!!!
Please help!
Thanks in advance x:hug:
