  1. Thank you for your thoughts Phoebe, dad's condition is still very changeable. He had gone in for a routine urology operation and then he got the dread blood infection and went down hill very quickly, they are still not sure which way this will go.

At least half of the people on I.C.U. seem to have a similiar problem and his doctor said people in their 80s seem to either have a heart attack or get a blood infection.

I really don't think the risk of the operation was pointed out to dad but this is not really what this thread is for.

We got our passports returned today with the all important red sticker but it's all a bit of a damp squid at the moment.

    Regards Les

  3. Hi there and yes it was meant to be flights, so excited cant even spell right, have corrected it now.

We may have to go down to London anyway coz of the dog, so thats no problem.

Will look into Emirates, is that normal to get that baggage weight or do you have to ask for it, sorry for being thick but never travelled one way before.

    Good luck with you visa.

    Wilma

  4. WOO HOO we got our visa grant letter today.:jiggy:

We are all as high as kites, been bouncing about all morning, then you come back down to earth again when you realize that you are going to have to start saying goodbye:cry:

But then you start bouncing around again, my daughters think I am nuts.

Oh me still can't believe it!!

Now to start looking into flights!

Thank guys for all your help, this site has been a great support all the way through, will probably need more help with the best airlines and double baggage and anything else that crops, oh and have to get the dog sorted out as well, no time to relax!!

    Best wishes

  5. I cant believe how close we are to getting our visas, we were in the final stage, we paid the money that all went through fine, were told we would probably hear early next week, then got a email from another CO saying he would be completing our visa but discovered that a police clearance had not been done for my Daughter who turned 16 last year so its on hold till we get it done.

He said he does not know why our CO never requested one but it has to be done which is fair enough, but its so frustrating.:arghh:

  6. Hi there yes Zoe is coming too not looking forward to putting her on the plane and then being without her for 30 days but she is so friendly I am sure she will be fine, think I will be worse than her.

She is a typical cocker totally mad but very loveable!!! :cute:

Our Grand Daughter was born on the 13th January last year, same birthday as my Daughter, can't wait to see her.

  7. Good luck with the new baby Linday

    Where you headed?

My 2 girls are 16 and 14 so there was no chance of them not going, thank god !

My husband had 2 boys from his first marriage, they went over to OZ with their Mother some 20 odd years ago, after visiting oz for one of the boys weddings in 2004, we decided to make to move too.
