    Moving back

Thankyou all. We would be moving back to around the kings Lynn area in Norfolk. We are originally from hampshire and Northampton so completely different but still within reasonable distance to family closer than Australia anyways. My son who has asd is Aug 25birthday so I'm hoping we would have the chance to hold him back. My daughter will be in the same year in the uk as she is here. I think the problem for me is I love the school they are in now, they have been amazing for my son and I'm scared he won't be able to readjust. I go back and forth about moving so much I don't know where I am lol!

    Moving back

Hi all. After a little advice. So my husband is getting rather desperate to move back to the uk from adelaide. Weve been here for 8 years and not enjoying it anymore. I really want to go back but i am terrified for our kids, having anxiety attacks about it. They are5 and 6 and in reception and year 1 here. My 6 year old is on the spectrum, high functioning. Im so worried they will both fall behind in school and struggle. Just wondering if anyone has been through it and can offer any advice? Thankyou
  3. My husband and i are also in Adelaide with 5 and 6 year old aussies. We moved in 09. Weve been contemplating the move back for over a year as the family pull in the uk is so strong. Its also a big financial risk for us as we wont have jobs to go back to. From my research your looks about right but i have probably got it from thr same place you have ?good luck with your descision.
  4. Thankyou everyone. I spoke to the education department and they said he would have to go into year 2 but its up to the scholl to asses his needs, there may be some delay due to a stroke before birth but as hes bot in school yet we dont see any. I rang a school we would like him to go to and it seems very postive as in letting him do mornings in the year below and slow transition and see how he goes all positive so far ?
  5. Thats good to know. He is only a couple of weeks off being in the lower year anyways so fingers crosses they would let us. We would hope to give him a year if school here then put him in in the january.

  7. Hi all. My husband and i are thinking about moving back to the uk, but we are concerned about how the kids will cope with school. My son is 5 and starts reception in january, he would already be halfway through yr 1 in the uk. Anyone moved back with young kids who have had hardly any schooling and have they coped and caught up? Such a hard decision to make thanx all
  8. Hi all. I am currently in adelaide working as swimming teacher for the department of education. All schools here get a week of intensive swimming and water safety. I am wondering if this happens in any other states at all? Looking at maybe moving to brisbane. Thankyou ?
