  1. Thanks CollegeGirl, I'm sureeverything willbe fine, I think we just worry about every single thing.... We're so desperate to go!!
  2. Thank you for the quick response CollegeGirl....... Referrals hold it up by a good chunk of time doesn't it? Oh dear ?... How very sad that makes me. I thought this was going to be relatively easy but it seems not
  3. I have been diagnosed today with early stage osteoarthritis in my knee and both thumb bases. The only symptoms that I have is a cracking and popping noise in my right knee (no pain) and some mild pain in my right thumb. I do not require any treatment or pain medication at the present time. The only reason I went to the doctor was because of the strange noises my knee was making!! He sent me for xrays which revealed bone spurs on my knee (hence the noises) and very early stage osteoarthritis. Nothing requires any treatment at the moment. My question is will this affect my partner visa? I will be applying within the next couple of months but am concerned this is going to cause me problems? Will I get refused because I may need treatment in the future? My husband thinks I should have held off going to the doctor as it wasn't causing me any problems and I think maybe he was right.... it's too late now!!!!
  4. Thanks for your reply rach01484. I thought it may be the case, just seems a lot to write out on every document..... Never mind...
  5. Good morning, Please can someone help...... I am about to submit my husbands citizenship by descent application and need to get copies of documents certified. Can you please tell me, does each copy need certifying or can they be numbered and just certify the first document as: "I certify this and the following … pages to be a true copy of the originals as sighted by me" Plus Signature Name in full Migration Agent Registration Number (MARN) Telephone Number Date Address (optional) and then just number and initial every copy? Also will I be able to do this with my spouse visa when I come to submit that, there will be lots of copy documents/ photo's etc. for that. Thanks
  6. My husband has never been resident in Australia which is why I am a bit concerned..... We will have money from the sale of our house here in the UK and live with my brother until we find jobs.... Hope that will be sufficient.
  7. Thank you, I'm sure you are right, can't find any where that asks for financial information just accommodation - hopefully my brothers home will be sufficient!! We will job hunt as soon as we arrive and have some money which we would like to hang on to for a deposit on a property but if we have to use it then we will and then rent a property.
  8. Wow, thank you for your speedy reply, can I ask how long ago that was? the sponsorship form asks about your current home which obviously is still in the UK although it does say to give further information at the end of the form if currently residing outside Australia. We will have accommodation with my brother when we first arrive so I suppose that could be declared? Do you think that would be adequate?? The last thing we want to do is sell the house apply for my visa for it to be turned down.... we'll end up with nothing!! This is part of what the declaration says :(I've looked through the form and there is nowhere that mentions finance/work) I agree: • to provide information and advice to help the person(s) I am sponsoring settle in Australia; • to ensure that adequate accommodation is available to them on arrival in Australia or, if necessary, to provide accommodation for up to 2 years from arrival in Australia, or the 2 years following grant of my partner’s visa if my partner is applying in Australia; • to provide support as required to enable them to attend appropriate English language courses; • to attend an interview (if requested by the department) in relation to my fiancé(e) or partner’s application;
  9. OK here goes, just starting the long journey into the process, here's a bit of background info.... My husband is in the process of getting citizenship by descent (his father is Australian). We have been married for 16 years. I have two sisters and a brother who are already Australian citizens (having emigrated many years ago) We have a property to sell with only a small amount of equity (due to property price drop!! GGGRR) We will have no proof of finances until we sell our property We currently live and work in the UK and are looking to emigrate asap My main question is when I apply for the partner visa my husband will need to sponsor me which involves evidence of being able to support me financially for the first two years. As we will need to get jobs when we arrive I don't see how this is possible, the money we arrive with could possibly last us a year or so ($40000) if we struggle to find jobs (my husband is a retail store manager and I am an administrative officer). I already have family there who are willing to provide short term accommodation but obviously we will need to pay our way. It has taken us a long time to make the decision to go and now I am worrying that without the financial backing, or employment until we get there that our plans may be 'dead in the water'. I'm sure someone out there has been in the same situation....... Let me know how you resolved this.... I'd be ever so grateful......
  10. I hope so Lara24..... I'm a bit worried now!!
  11. Thanks lara24, hope I can find one that can wait until the day as we just wont have the money until the house is sold
  12. Thanks for the reply.... Was hoping this would be the case
  13. Hi, just starting our journey, husband has his citizenship application filled in and waiting for police check. My spouse visa will be next then we'll put the house on the market. My question is, when do you pay the shippers?? Once the visa money etc is paid all our money is tied up in our property....... Do the shippers need paying upfront as this is going to be a problem!! any help would be most appreciated
