  1. People who do not live in Melbourne make fun of our climate but over four million people do not agree with them lol. I love the four seasons of the year. Have lived in Sydney before coming to live in Melbourne and just love Melbourne more. Nothing I don't like about it. I have family in Perth as my Uncle migrated to Perth at the same time my parents moved to Aus and my parents lived there for a while but they did not like Perth either. I have never lived in Perth and do like the place to visit but Melbourne is home.

lived in Melbourne for 2 years and loved it But. Mornington is fantastic but if you don't pay the toll tax to drive on the freeways. To get the city it's ****...... It takes ages and the transport isn't great either most of the public transport stops at 9 and loads of tags and graffiti ..... I like Melbourne as a city but it's a city that's wot it is and as for 4 seasons yeh it's within one day everyone should wear the zip of trousers and shorts and body warmers .....with sleeves

  2. why do people always argue where to live on here and can get nasty , with comments that areas must be great if you come from the inner suburbs of a **** hole !!! I come from one of the most beautiful places in the whole of the uk but so wot !!! and live near ! so wot ! could live in the inner suburbs of a **** HOLE HERE ! or live in the most expensive house in perth !!! does that make me different, no :arghh:

we are all here on the same boat so each to ones own, enjoy your dream make your decision on what you feel comfortable with ITS YOUR LIFE !!!! and your decision to make the adventures come true

  3. With kids being near Hillary's, the beach and the beachfront, where there are heaps of parks and places to take the kids would be nice. I have been living not that far away from Hillary's for 20 years and love the Northern suburbs. Have a look on google maps at the coastline from, say Scarborough North to how ever far you fancy. If your hubby is going to be going to the airport every other week the Tonkin highway takes about 30 mins to get there from somewhere around hillary's.

Takes about 40 mins to the City by car and can be about the same by public transport. Joondalup about 10 mins away.

I'm not that familiar with the Southern suburbs but there are nice places down there too. Nicolac34's list is not a bad one at all.

so why havent you been down south !!! hillarys is ok and the north has a great coast line but wot about mandurah, secret harbour, its not far

  4. butler is known as little britain as there is so many brits here

you can get a train from clarkson into joondalup in 5 mins and by car its prob about 15 , but to be honest most places u go u have to drive so its not much diff driving 5/20

its gonna be down to personal choice at the end of the day , im from the uk but butler is a bit too far north for me

butler is luvly ! but port talbot is a different story

  7. Dear All,

I'm new to the forum, we are moving to Oz in 6 months time. My husband has taken a job in Mornington, and we are planning to live in Mt.Eliza or Mt.Martha. Can you please advice me on what Mornington Peninsula is like? As far as I researched online, it looks like a nice place.

Whats Mt.Eliza and Mt.Martha like for housing, schools and shopping? We have a 16month old son and we also need a good nursery for him. We love the English countryside, we like outdoorsy stuff, cafe's, restaurants etc and hoping that Mornington would not disappoint.

    Any input would be useful.

    TIA.

    hia there x

congratulations what a lovely place to live we would love to live there but just a bit to far down for the commute for my hubby x

we have been here now for 2 months and currently in frankston x

and have twins who are 12 and an 8 year old x

good luck and keep us updated with your plans

    love carole x
