  2. Hi guys,

Can anyone please tell me if I get a job in Oz and the gross salary is between AUD 43K to 53K, what percentage of it gets deducted, so I can have an idea of how much it will be my Net income.

At the moment my job here in the UK after tax, national insurance etc it works out 20% off my gross salary

  3. H&M, one more question, sorry, I cannot find a way to PM here, hope it is fine to ask the question on the forum.

My partner is Australian citizen (born in Australia), but we live in London.

On the Sponsor document under Part H on Form 40SP (about your home), I am guessing this relates to an Australia home, showing that we will have a place to live, but as we are not in Australia yet, do we fill in the details about our London house or just leave it blank and add a note saying that we will be renting in Australia when we get there?

    thank you!

    I will PM you

  4. Could you please confirm if I will need 4 statutory declarations?

2 from 2 Australian citizens to confirm we are in a de facto relationship

    1 mine to confirm character

1 from my partner and I to detail our relationship

are there templates that we need to complete or are they free format? If templates, where can I get them please?

    thank you!

We had 2 english friends to do a declaration, then they went to a solicitor with their passport to as proof of their ID, it cost £10 for them to sign the declaration in front of the solicitors. Next we did a joint declaration and we both signed, we didnt need to go to a solicitors as we were doing all paperwork through an agent

    Regards

  5. Hi there,

my birth certificate is from Brazil and in Portuguese and I don't want to spend money to have it translate it.

Can I just send certified copies of my British passport and UK Driving license as proof of ID?

    on the booklet it says:

"You must provide certified copies of the following:• birth certificate showing both parents’ names; OR

one of following: Baptism certificate, passport, family book showing both parents’ names, identity document issued by the government, document issued by a court that verifies your identity.

    If none of these are available, other acceptable evidence of your identity must be provided;

    • evidence of any name changes (for example, deed poll, marriage certificates or divorce certificates);

    • your current passport or travel document, and all your previous passports or travel documents; and

    • if you have served in the armed forces of any country, certified copies of your military service record or discharge papers.

    thanks a lot!

My birth certificate is also from Brazil and I have given my British passport as proof of ID and it was accepted. Which visa are you applying for? If you need any info sen me a pm

    Good Luck

  6. Hi All

I've read many conflicting views on POI about activating WA SS, so I thought it prudent to speak with migration myself.

It turns out that I do have to physically activate the SS, it seems a little crazy that this can't be done at the same time that I validated my visa.

It's worth having a look at this if you haven't seen it already... it tells you what you need to do - http://www.migration.wa.gov.au/skilledmigration/Pages/Newlyarrivedskilledmigrants.aspx.

    Cheers

    Lee

Does this means if we go to Brisbane to validate it and come back to UK, it only validates the WA SS when we go back and live in Perth? What if we decided to wait another year before going back to Perth?

  7. It will state on you Grant letter, in my case was from the date the police checks were done. I guess they go by whatever you submit first medical or police checks.

  8. It has been a long wait, lots of ups and downs, lots of stress, but today we got our visa :biggrin:

We first applied for 175 in December 2008, as we wanted to go independent. My partner is the main applicant as Cabinetmaker, with the changes we end at the back of the queue cat 5. In July we decided that we had enough of waiting and applied for WA SS on 23rd and we got accepted on 25th. We then had police checks back on 15.09.12, did the medicals in Plymouth on 18.10.12, Immi received on 22.10.12 mine got finalised on 25.10.12 and my partners got finalised today and visa granted today, Just UNBELIEVABLE!!!! We are still in shock!! Now with some changes in our personal circs we need to plan for the future, as at the moment we cant just go for good.

For the last 4 years (almost) I have been following this forum but I'm a bit shy so hardly posted on here. Just Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, it has helped us a lot.

Never give up on your dreams! Good Luck everyone x x x :yes::hug:
