  1. Hi ralsinoz. We have been here a month and have everything we need now but thanks for asking. I think it will be a while before we can buy a house! Good luck with your return to the UK x
  2. A blow up camp bed is a bit too close to the floor for me seeing as I've convinced myself that the whole population of Brisbane's scariest creatures will be waiting to crawl all over me as soon as I turn off the light
  3. Thanks all it's going to be one big adventure (and headache) trying to find a house and furnish it quickly and on the car front it depends how much i get for mine here in the UK when i stick it on Ebay next week on quite a tight budget as we didn't manage to sell the house Hope we manage to find beds quickly though cos there is no way I am sleeping on the floor!
  4. Arriving in Brisbane on 1st July and have 4 weeks to find a house and start filling it with stuff as we are leaving everything behind. So if anyone has anything coming up for sale soon (also need a car) give us a shout!

    Update on Arwen

http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/pets/138030-need-rehome-our-beautiful-border-collie.html#post1310187 Just to let anyone know who was wondering we have found a lovely couple who are delighted to have Arwen and are also taking Thomas the cat.
  8. I've been hoping for 3 years she would do just that but have given up now
  9. Could she not get a remaining relative visa?
  10. Daughter works in a bank as a banking advisor but also has cabin crew experience. Boyfriend: Er......................... he is invisible as far as tax and insurance go. He works for his dad cash in hand doing all sorts of stuff (no idea what don't really care)
  11. Hope to be in Oz before Christmas and dear daughter has suddenly realised we ARE actually going and has started to think about joining us. She is 23, living with her boyfriend (who she is trying to persuade to go as well). My questions are: What type of visa should she be looking at? Would she be better off marrying her boyfriend or not marrying him? Grateful for all answers (or if anyone can 'bump off' the useless boyfriend?)
  12. No, they are next to Summerfield Primary opposite Stanningley Park. Used to be a scout hut in a field here or something before.
  13. I also went to Intake. It's Leeds West Academy now. Were these houses here when you lived in Leeds Tyke?
  14. Thank you  It was worth packing my job in to decorate it all and get it ready but I'm bored now, need to get to Oz so I can get another job :daydreaming:
  15. 4 Bedroom Detached House For Sale in LEEDS (for anyone returning to the UK) or if anyone knows anyone who would like to come round for a looksy:wink: pm if interested. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-34516567.html
  16. My daughter was 17 when we first applied for our visas and she wanted to go more than any of us because she wanted to work on the airlines as cabin crew. She is nearly 23 now, has a good job in a bank and lives with her boyfriend and now keeps saying 'I can't believe you're leaving me behind'. My answer to that is 'We are not leaving you, you are choosing not to come' (She has since decided that she will eventually come and join us within the next two years). My MIL however has been saying things like ' How can you leave your poor old Mum? I could never have left my Mother. What if she needs to go into a nursing home? Mothers need their daughters, I suppose I will have to look after her! My Mum on the other hand (she's 85) said 'Take no notice of her, you all go with my blessing, I will miss you all terribly but you can't wait until I drop dead I could be here for another 10 years!' So it's a bit of a struggle at the moment and God knows how we will feel when the actual day comes
  17. Thanks Rupert. Is it me just being thick? :embarrassed: But if they're not in trouble why would they be selling it? I'm confused :goofy:
  18. Oh sorry, the bit where it says about selling Rotary UK as a going concern.
  19. What does this mean though? http://admin.hastiegroup.com.au/AssetManager/library/Important%20Update%20-%20Rotary%20UK%20and%20Ireland%20Clients.pdf
  20. Just put the house up for sale hoping to be over Oct / Nov time and the news broke yesterday about Hastie Group going into administration. Hubby works as an Electrician for Rotary Uk who are 'apparantly safe at the moment'. We were just preparing his CV to send off to Hastie in Australia but now there are going to be many people losing their jobs :frown:. Feeling a bit insecure now
