  1. Please could someone with experience help. I am flying out to Perth on the 4 January in order to register with AHPRA prior to the 13 Jan.

My letter in principle states that I need to provide the following: Certificate of Registration Status or Certificate of Good Standing validity.

What at exactly do I need to do...

    -print off the stat Dec and get it signed by a JoP or;

    - can I contact NMC to re-issue my confirmation of registration to confirm validity??

I I would be grateful for any response. Contacting the NMC will be much easier that arranging a stat Dec to be signed because I don't think my local JoP carries out document signing anymore.

    TIA

    Hi,

Go on NMC online, complete the application to request a COGS then you will be sent a letter and details of how to pay the fee. Once this is done the NMC will send the COGS directly to AHPRA.

  2. I will be presenting at the perth office in about 3 weeks so it's good to hear what is needed. I asked the NMC to resend my COGS last week and it might be a good idea to 're do my fit2work. Fingers crossed its not a stressful process. Do you just turn up or do you need an appointment??

    Hi Louloubelle,

I rang AHPRA and was told you do not need an appointment and you can go to any branch in any area. Good luck with everything, keep us updated with your visit.

  3. I'm planning on going into Sydney office today but worried I won't have all the evidence needed.

i didn't get passport stamped on arrival as this was not needed as went through electronic system with no issues, I do have my visa grant letter though so hoping that will be fine along with my boarding cards to show date of entry.

ive not been offered a job yet but I will be meeting with a company I was Skype interviewed for before I head to AHPRA so hopefully they will confirm job offer??

ive not got proof of address as staying with friends and can't get rental of own until I got a job!

Its all such a vicious circle!!

    Hi Charlotte,

How did you get on today? What evidence did you show? Any tips for me? We are heading over to validate end of December. Any advice will be greatly welcomed. Hope you're enjoying it?

  4. I had to produce passport with visa stamp in it (if your passport needs changing do it before your visa is granted, it just makes life easier in the long run) uk driving licence. 189 visa grant notification. Fit to work declaration. Job offer- it can take a while to get a job as the employer has to be willing to wait for you to get there, so be prepared to start applying earlier. If you land here you will be sleeping somewhere- a hotel is an address even if it's just for s few nights, you can then go online and change it once registration has been granted. All email based anyway. They want the passport details that you applied with so either update before or cut it close and have to mess with visa after.

    Cheers Priscilla,

I will start applying for jobs ASAP then. Do you think they will refuse to register me if I don't get a job offer in time? I wasn't sure if they would accept such a short term let as a temp address, but it's great if they do! The passport situation is a nightmare! It states they want original passport so I've delayed getting it renewed. I was thinking if I could manage to present earlier than anticipated, I could use the original for this and to also validate visa with, then renew and on re-entry I could use new passport but show old passport too. Nothing's ever straight forward with me! All of this is taking away the excitement of moving. Thanks again for you reply.

  5. Just as an update. I presented to Ahpra Melbourne on 16 August. My fit to work had expired (zither only last 3 months) so I had applied before flying for another.

I turned up. Had to walk to the pharmacist next door for a star declaration (very common here) and returned with my form. Got an email next day saying I was on the register.

    Hi Priscilla,

What ID did you have to produce? I know the Aus visa and passport need to be shown, just wanted to know if you had to show a Aus job offer etc? I need to present before 11th Jan to AHPRA and my letter in principle states that I need to supply either a job offer or ID that shows Aus addresses. As we can't move to Aus until our house is sold, I haven't applied for jobs as I can't give employers a move date, therefore no job offers to and we don't have an Aus address. I'm just wandering how people that have presented to them have got around this? Also it states that I must show original passport. My passport is due to expire in March so i would need to present ASAP, if not I won't have my original passport but a new passport! Sorry for all the questions.

  6. Like i say can only tell you from my experience. Didnt need a new NMC cogs just signed declaration. On my in principle letter it stated if cogs was older than three months i would have to sign stat dec. No biggie done that at the ahpra office on identification. Had no idea the fit2work was only valid for three months or would have done this prior to leaving UK and obviously more money again however it was a small price to pay to finally receive my registration number. Have not heard of anyone else having to do this either however on fit2work site its state only valid for 3 months so couldnt really dispute it. Took me around 21 days to receive. Good luck all.

    Hi Loulou,

As you have already presented to AHPRA, I wonder if you could help me. I have recently had my visa granted and need to present myself at an AHPRA office within the next 5 months. (we were hoping to validate jan). In my notice in principle letter it states that I need to provide my international passport containing Australian visa, an updated version of COGS (over 6 months old) and either 1) a signed statement from a prospective Australian employer, veryfiying my identity OR 2) an origional offer of employment.

The situation is that we need to sell our house before we move to Australia (Its taking longer than expected). I havent applied for any jobs because I have no idea when we will be able to move there, therefore can not provide AHPRA with either a statement from employer or offer of employment. Did you have to show a job offer or employer statement on presenting to AHPRA? If no were you asked to provide them?

    Thank You

  7. Our visas were granted at 4am this morning. I can't believe it! So excited. Just got to sell the house and arrange pet shipping! My husband's notification email shows one of our old Australian addresses, I'm going to ring them and ask if this is a mistake. Good luck to everyone, I'm sure there will be more today xx

  8. Mine is exactly as my signature states. Only contact on Jan 19th for Form 80. Also asked for missus PTE and work reference letters (irrelevant as reference letters already uploaded and missus is secondary applicant with British passport so doesnt have to show proof for English skills)

Docs upload Feb 8th and radio silence ever since....................

    Hi everyone,

We're still waiting too. Extra docs were requested 25/2/16, I uploaded them on 18/3/16.

  9. Hi,

sorryforthe late reply... Pom Queen, hopefully not much longer, fingers crossed. Bri45 the medicals were as cjenky said, plus chest X-ray if you're a nurse.

  10. Hi, I'm a bit late posting this but just wanted to let everyone know what a great service we received when we went for our medicals. We decided to travel a bit further from home to Manchester to the government approved clinic and I'm glad we did too. It was over £200 cheaper than the two clinics closer to home and the service was excellent. We arrived an hour early and was greeted straight away, taken for coffee and told they would do our medicals earlier. Everything was very professional and the doctor was great. He made us all feel comfortable and at ease. I would definitly recommend this clinic.

  11. I doubt I'd they need you to provide links to your father for a 189. I'm sure many have certificates like this, it will be OK for the visa, up to you to investigate changing it though.

    Sometimes best not to explore........

    Hi rammygirl,

We had to provide the information for our 189 visa. I think Steve should just send what he has and only apply to add name to certificate if it is requested. You're so right though, sometimes it really is best not to explore.

  12. I have only ever had the short version of my birth certificate for as long as i remember. The 189 visa requires a full birth certificate showing parents names.

Now here is the issue or possibly not?

I requested a copy of my full birth certificate from the GRO at a cost of £9.50 which i have now received. My birth certificate does not show my fathers details, they are just dashed out.

My issue is will i need to provide any other evidence to show the relationship to my father in the absence of his name on my birth certificate.

Its probably not a real issue but I'm trying to pre-empt anything as i don't really communicate with my father much these days.

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

We've just had to get our daughter a full birth certificate because just like yours, hers had dashes where her dads name should've been. When I registered her birth, I went alone as my partner (baby's father) was at work. The registrar did not let me put his name on the certificate, firstly because we were unmarried and secondly because he was not present! Because we have since married, we were able to add fathers name to certificate and to also update my name to include my married name. It doesn't take long, you could apply for this online, then present at an office where you can sign for & collect certificate.

  13. Hi guys,

The grants seem to be getting quicker! Congrats to everyone who's had theirs.

Does anyone know an easy way of making form 80, one document? Apart from scanning and uploading each page, I haven't got a clue! Also if I did upload each page, that would take me right over the maximum amount of documents! Cheers.

  14. Exactly the same happened to myself, follow captain c 's advice and it will be fine I am sure. I was in one hell of a panic when the police check came back applied for the Acro and sent in the form to declare, sent the arcro when back which states every incident, time place etc but had my visa granted shortly after with no questions. Good luck xx

Thanks Loulou, will do. I really do hope things will turn out well ??

  15. Hi,

just wondering if anyone has been in a similar position. I have recently put visa application, when completing, I asked my husband if he had a criminal record, to which he said no! Police checks were completed and his came back saying No live trace! When I questioned him about it he looked mortified as he had forgotten an incident over 20 years ago (drunk and disorderly). I am absolutely devastated as it now looks like I lied on my application!

I have found a form that I can fill out to provide correct answers, which I will do and send to my case office along with a letter of apology and explanation. Do any of you know if I can do anything else to put this right?

    Many thanks
