I would apply for 175 now under Priority 3. You may get processed before the State Plans are announced, but you may not. I would worry about holding off and waiting for a State Plan for the following reasons:

They will be announced in September at the EARLIEST

Your occupation my not be on a particular State's plan

you may not be approved or meet the extra requirements of the State

A new government could freeze new applications again - anything could happen down the track - generally you are safe if you meet the current criteria, especially with a new-SOL occupation.

If you do apply for 175 and it gets held up due to the State Plans being released, DIAC are saying that you must make a new application if you obtain State Plan Nomination to get higher priority. I don't agree that a new application is needed and am battling with DIAC on this issue - but it is up in the air at the moment.

I am trying to get an answer from DIAC on that one as it is unfair that a recently applied Priority 3 case is getting processed and older cases are not. I would be taking the chance and getting health and character sorted so yo ucan say to DIAC, before the SMPs comeout, that your case is decision ready and Priority 3 is top Priority until SMPs come out.

Hi Debs

If the 495 has expired, an Employer sponsorship is probably the only option now unfortunately.
