Your registration status is the old card they used to send out to you and is now the letter that tells you you are registered (once you've paid your NMC fee). They kept asking me for my card and I had to send them a screenshot of the website that says they don't send cards out anymore. Just scan in and email them the letter saying your registered or ask the NMC to post (they don't do email and then wonder why they can't work efficiently!) If you've not kept it

That is what I have done, I completed the verification request form and asked for this to be sent to AHPRA, this was sent in November but AHPRA are still stating they are outstanding the 'certificate of registration status'

Why don't you do the top up degree online at a UK university? I know UWS (university west of Scotland) do it online for (I think) £1,500 you could use a friend/relative address so you don't pay international fees it would take you 9months (at the most) and that's a part time timeframe you might be able to get RPL for any modules you've done reducing time and cost

I have got to page 11 - qualifications.

 

Highest qualification is degree so filled the details in.

 

It also requires details of secondary school qualification such as my GCSEs. The question requires me to keep adding qualifications. For the course name section do i put gcse in maths english, german etc etc on one line or keep doing a separate addition. Also is this classed as "other" for qualification?

Give them a call and speak to person reviewing your file- they are quite helpful.

There is a wee spiel that you need to type, date and sign something like "the information is true ......" did you forget that bit?

I just typed a list of CPD on my CV I didn't go into detail about my CPD just course name hours and attendance year. There is a wee template somewhere that you could populate and ask if they'll accept by email.

I sent mine to Perth office I have the perth phone number if that's where you sent yours.

i am so drained with the whole process of applying for my nurses reg with Aphra. i finally got mine sent off 2 months ago after 6 months of getting everthing together. After 2 months of waiting for word i emailed aphra today who wrote back immediatly to say i needed to send my CV as i did not sign and date it correctly? But they didnt explain how i managed to do this wrong. Something so simple, this is ridiculous. could anyone please explain to me how exactly they done this or send me a copy of there CV to have a look please. my email is chambersclaire@hotmail.com

I live in Solihull and it is a great place but i am aware there is 'another world' out there I study in glasgow and have worked there and let me tell you first hand- things are bad and they are going to get a whole lot worse

Things are dire for many- foodbanks growing at such a rapid rate that it is reflective of Americas "welfare"

i have heard of people taking the free sachets of tomato sauce from cafes and topping up with water to give to their kids as soup. Just cause it's not in front of you and your street doesn't mean it's not happening.

And before anyone starts with daily mail statements no it's not because they have sky, buy cigs or alcohol! Poverty is slightly more complex than that - have a look at GCPH website!

If you read reports from IFS, CPAG, poverty alliance, engender, Joseph rowntree, barnarods, etc etc. You will be shocked and disgusted about what is happening in UK. It certainly is divide and conquer those in low SES have a bleak future ahead.

Anyone in doubt should look at the trussell foodbanks website and see how many are opening around the UK its very very sad.

 

Im sure there are plenty who haven't been affected , Ive seen low Income families buying toys we would have thrown away and clearly not able to dress their kids in a manner that would be expected.

There are people starving here- food banks are growing rapidly mothers are going hungry to feed their children. If you are lucky enough not to be hit by recession then you are fortunate (I personally am unaffected), there are certainly big problems in the uk. For instance an area i used to work in when i was frontline has 55% child poverty and this is expected to rise considerably!

Things are only going to get worse for people in low SES- child poverty was meant to be eradicated in 2020 however it is set to rise over next couple of years and all the work done in past 12 years is forecast to be wiped out in next 12-18 months.

The vast majority don't get affected...when you think most people I know have a nice car or even two and their own houses and holidays twice a year it can't be that bad.....of course some people suffer as they have always done, when you look at people starving around the world you count your blessings.

Congratulations I thought I was bad- 100 days after medical- it was quite a stressful time!

We are going to Perth in August and my tip is have lists for everything that you need to do!!!

We have had the other house we rent out on the market to sell for over a year with no joy so we have decided to rent that one out for another 12 months and they move in next week....

 

we have come to Cyprus for a few weeks to get away from all the stress and just enjoy the sun....

 

we will decide when we get back what to do with our house, most probably rent it out but I would rather sell it....

we are in a rental at present but we do rent out our old home- we will continue to rent it out and it will form part of our pension. I am going to keep an emergency stash in uk for any repairs or any vacant periods. We have been really lucky our tenants are good.

We won't have any equity released from house (we have a good bit but just want mortgage paid off asap) so basically just going to start again! We want to save up for 1-2 year for good deposit for Aus house and take it from there!

We have got rid of a lot of our belongings and I feel quite liberated for it!

If you want to know about renting I can give you my story (house is in Scotland - more regulation forms than England)

i couldn't face clinical work so if I am unsuccessful I'd really need to reevaluate my career!

My last clinical job was 7 years ago in health visiting and even then that's a big step back from hands on acute.

What hospital are you in? How are you finding Aus work?

In my experience here, uk nurses come onto the ward in clinical roles, we had a uk matron that spent 12 months on the ward and then worked her way up the ladder to a ward manager. A lot of management roles in the hospital I work in go internally as they are not short of applicants. Maybe try for a nursing job and go from there?
