Guest guest30085
Hello All Im new here  I honestly havent been hanging around on this site for 3 years now, still with no visa in sight :embarrassed::frown: Within 12 months, I will be qualified in my new occupation hopefully, and apparently I need to sit the IELTS also. If I sat it in the next couple of months so that I have the results ready for when I send off qualifications to be assessed - will it still be valid? Or does the IELTS have to be less than 12 months since taking it? This is hard work this re-training lark - I only want to be a Beach Bum

Guest guest30085
Thank you for your reply. I will wait then, as it will likely run out before Im ready. Good luck with your application x
lebourvellec
Some occupations require you to sit the Academic IELTS, but holding a UK passport IELTS is not required for many occupations. But for the visa application - after 1 July your IELTS need to be less than 3 years old (currently 2 years)
Guest guest30085
Thanks Lebourvellec I need to sit the Academic and minimum of 7's for the assessment. Although I will need 8's for the points anyway. So potentially I could take it this summer and it will still be valid. Thanks for your help
lebourvellec
If its ANMC that you need to get skills from the IELTS needs to be less than 2 years old. (You can check what the requirements are with the Assessing Authority if its not ANMC, mostly its 2 years for IELTS validity) If you get 7's in Academic for skills test - but not all 8's you can sit the general test for the application processs.
