  1. Need help. My husband did his skill assessment (Customer Service Manager) last year (based on Overseas qualifications & work experience) but has just completed his Masters Degree in Australia last month. I would like to know can we claim for the Australian Master's degree and does the Australian degree need assessment
  2. HI, Can anyone give me any pointers who applied from within Australia for SS to ACT about what needs to be written in the Summany about Family in Australia for the ACT SS as that is asked in the SS form. Awaiting help....
  3. The assessment was made with overseas qualifications equal to Associate Degree.
  4. Would like to know if points for overseas employment only from the skills assessment can be claimed for the EOI as the assessment was done first and the Postgraduate degree was completed after wards. The postgraduate degree has been completed from Australia so can points be claimed as 15-points for the Master's degree, 5- points for Two Years Study in Australia and only 5-points for assessment of overseas employment equivalent to 3 years.
  5. Also will his MBA degree have to be assessed by the relevant authority to claim points
  6. My husband has completed his MBA in Australia and we have already received a positive skills assessment for an occupation on the state sponsorship list for ACT. Can we claim points for his MBA to enable us to apply for the subclass 190. He has completed his IELTS as well. Help is requested please. His skills assessment is for overseas work experience. Very confused:wacko:
  7. Your advise is always very helpful that is why i am requesting your help. You said in a previous post that his earlier degree was assessed by VETASSESS as being equivalent to an AQF Associate Degree - This is correct. We at the moment stand at 50 points.
  8. Actually we had gotten assessment done through Vetassess for overseas educational qualifications and work experience in the Customer Service Manager category and the assessment was positive only issue was that the educational qualifications were assessed equivalent to Australian AQF Degree and his work experience was 7 years but they only gave us points for 3 years of overseas work experience. We had gotten this assessment done earlier this year but by the time he completed his IELTS in which he got 7.5 in each over all 7.5, the occupation closed in both states. Because he is living and studying in Canberra, ACT, he still has a chance to apply in the closed occupation category but we are points short because ACT does not give sponsorship for 489 and family sponsorship like u had told me earlier is not applicable for occupations on the CSOL occupation list. therefore, we are points short to apply for 190. I have been trying to look for any way to be able to get those 5 points but i cant find any way. This is our situation right now. What is ur advise in this case.
  9. ok. He is doing his Masters in Australia only. which means we have a chance to get points for his qualifications once he completes his degree and claim only the points for the job assessments.
  10. Ozmaniac thanks for your reply but one more silly question. Just for clarity purpose please. So does this mean that once he completes his Master's degree and gets his Master's assessed from Vetassess he can claim those points in addition to the ones he has already been awarded by Vetassess for his qualification and job occupation under the overseas educational qualification and job occupation for CSR Manager.
  11. He has already gotten a positive assessment. But is still doing his Master of Business Admin and will complete his course in June. Can we claim points for this degree even though we already have a positive assessment based on his previous Overseas Bachelor's Degree which is equivalent to AQF Associate Degree.
  12. Would ACT give us state sponsorship for closed occupation with 50 points. Currently we are residing in Canberra. Can we submit an EOI with 50 points in hand
  13. Hi, I wrote to the ACT department for clarification and the below is what i received The ACT government does not nominate under the 489. However, relatives can sponsor.
  14. His occupation is on the ACT and SA state list. If he clears the IELTS with all 8's he can apply for 190 state sponsorship as he will have enough points to support his SS application for both states.
