Hey Guys, Just sent my questions to CaptainC. I got my letter from AMSA. I contacted them several times, until they explained that: 1) They take a judgement on the level of education you have: I got advanced diploma (in the letter) 2) They judge how much years you have. The letter stated they judge me for 7 years. Nobody from AMSA actually explained how is this time calculated, despite countless emails by me and my immigration agent. My guess is they have no idea, and are just guessing for each separate case. I got more than I expected, so I think even if you are on separate contracts ( and not on a permanent) you will get the converted time (and not only the years of sea time). Please, anybody claiming points for work experience - have you been requested by DIBP, to provide supporting documents for the claimed sea time, or the letter from AMSA is sufficient? If requested, please write which documents specifically.

Hey guys! Just passed my orals cor - chief mate. CaptainR, CaptainC and all the rest of you guys, that included information in the drop box - i am about 85% certain i would not have passed if not for your help! Hello guys! I just logged in but been checking the thread for the past several months. Thank you for the useful information you provide regularly here! I already obtained sea time letters and started filling up AMSA419 form for the initial assessment . I have only one question about it - I have experience on oil tankers and intend to sail on them in the future, so do I need to apply for endorsements as well along with the recognition of my COC and the GMDSS certificate? It might me a stupid question but I do not want to incur delays on my application because of simple mistakes.
