Amandarina
Hi, Hope you can help with what I hope is a simple question! I am currently in the UK I am married to an Australian Citizen and my children (7 and 3 years old) also have their Australian Passports. We are planning to migrate together. I have a job offer in Brisbane and they want me to start ASAP. I am applying for a subclass 189 visa as my profession is on the list. I have not included them in my application as I thought that Australian citizens did not need visas. I had my health check at the weekend and my question is "do Australian Citizens need to undertake the health checks for a non-citizen visa application?" I am worried that I should have included my husband and children in my visa application and had health checks performed on at the same time. Many Thanks, Amanda
Mark Northam
Hi Amandarina - Australian citizens do not need health checks or visas to re-enter Australia, so while they should be declared in a visa application if asked about your family members, etc, they should be included but should not be listed as "migrating" applicants. Hope this helps - Best, Mark Northam
Amandarina
Thank you Mark for replying to my question. I was asked today for more information as I had stated I was married and had uploaded my marriage certificate. They requested more information on my husband, passport, police checks and health check. I've uploaded his Australian passport and police check. Fingers crossed they do not want the health check.
