It's hard if you don't have the right licences and what you need is different in each state. If you know where you want to go then hopefully a carpenter in that state can help you out.

I know new trade migrants can struggle at first so it may not be worth trying to get skilled work on a WHV - i am sure you would be able to get semi-skilled labouring work though.

Hi im heading back over to australia after chrismas on my 2nd year visa and just wondering.

How easy it is to get into construction. I've been a carpenter for six years just want to know before heading out there

Incase I need to look before going.

I Jack,

im currently awaiting for my Visas to be granted and I'm a Carpenter and Jointer by trade with 13 years of experience. Firstly you will require the White Card which is equiv to the CSCS cars we have here. If you don't already have one, let me know. The company I went through we're really good and it can be done in one day and at the weekend. In Australia the course is three days long.
